Rumored Expendables 2 Casting - Travolta, Norris, Van Damme, Schwarzenegger
I liked The Expendables, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that I loved it. That said, I still love the concept of the ultimate action film and I greatly admire Stallone for trying to make that happen. That must be why, despite my lukewarm reception to the first film, I'm as excited for the sequel as I could possibly get.
Stallone has thrown out a lot of names when discussing the action sequel and talking about which stars he would like to get. At this point, I think he's mentioned about a third of Hollywood. Well now it looks like some of his dreams may have come true as John Travolta, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger are all rumored to be joining the production.
According to David Varod, the CEO of Bulgarian (where the film will shoot) based film company Nu Boyana, those four will be joining the original cast for Expendables 2. Of course, Schwarzenegger was in the first film, albeit just a small cameo. Bruce Willis also played a bit part in the first and, according to Varod, will be back for more. In what capacity is unknown, but Stallone didn't express interest in him playing a villain.

I'd hate for them to water the series (trilogy?) down by having too many stars all at once. I'd like them to save some for the next film which is inevitable because you know Arnold and company will be back. Though I'm loving the big names. Guys I grew up admiring and who made their names in the 70's/80's/90's classic action films. I'd like to see some big names playing villains (especially those that tired out playing too many heroes, hello Mr. Terminator!). There's just something so cool about seeing all these action stars doing what comes natural to them.
