From what the trailers tell us, Saw is the tale of Jigsaw. A wicked twist on your average serial killer. As opposed to simply killing his victims, he creates elaborate sets and scenarios with various outcomes. Escape is possible; but a price must be paid. Examples include; a tunnel blocked by razor-blade wire, with a timer set to close the rooms only exit at the end of the maze. "If you want to live, your going to have to cut yourself". ALso, a large metal mask wired to a victims jaw, and a timer set to violently open the piece tearing open the jaw. THe only key being in the stomach of a dead cell mate. Or is he really dead?
The movie begins with two men awaking in a dimly lit, dank basement. They find themselves chained at oposite ends of the room. Between them lies a man in a pool of his own blood with a gun in his hand. Presumably he's shot himself in the head. Collectivly the two men decide that they are the newest captives of the serial killer Jigsaw, and with the use of various clues scattered through the room, the will discover why they have been brought there and what they must do to leave.
SAW opens October 1st in most cities and stars Cary Elwes, Leigh Whannell, Dina Meyer, Danny Glover, and Monica Potter. Pre-release buzz is growing stronger everyday leading up to the release of this film and I will admit it is one of the few movies i'd be willing to endorse simply from trailers and word of mouth. Unfortunatly due to graphic content, it's unlikely you'll see the trailer for this film on television or even in your local theatre.
www.joblo.com (which is a great resource for movie trailers) has compiled a list of sources where the various trailers can be viewed, and you can view them by clicking here and scrolling down. (WARNING: EXTREMELY GRAPHIC/SHOCKING SCENES AWAIT YOU, NOT FOR THOSE WITH A FAINT HEART OR WEAK STOMACH) Look for a full movie-review to be posted soon, here at www.movie-vault.com.
