If you're curious as to what the "Volume II" in this title signifies, it means that this is intended to be a sequel to Robert Plant's 2003 solo retrospective Sixty Six To Timbuktu, the first disc of which compiles tracks from Plant's solo albums, and the second of which compiles rarities, covers and compilation tracks from throughout his solo years - as well as his pre-Led Zeppelin singles and tracks from the original Band Of Joy, with the late John "Bonzo" Bonham on drums.

But the thing is, it's now seven years later, and Robert's released three more records since then - including Raising Sand with Alison Krauss and the all-new Band Of Joy released just last month - and so as a result Sixty Six To Timbuktu is ever-so-slightly out of date! So just think of Sixty Six To Timbuktu as the equivalent of Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits from 1967, and then think of SHINE IT ALL AROUND: The ROBERT PLANT Anthology Volume II (1982-2010) as the equivalent of Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Volume II from 1972. In both cases, it's just a few years further down the road, and in each case the second collection doubles the length of the first (ha, ha!)

So don't expect to see anything here that was included on the original Sixty Six To Timbuktu collection. That would include the likes of Tall Cool One, Big Log, Calling To You, the Honeydrippers' cover of Sea Of Love, 29 Palms, Little By Little, etc., etc. This is the "deep cuts" Plant collection right here, and you'll get a lot of other great stuff from the master here - including quite a few personal favorites, as well as those hits and singles that didn't make the cut on Sixty Six To Timbuktu.
