Thumbs up Russell Brand

I just watched "Arthur" over the weekend and I was plesently suprised by Russel Brand! I think the guy has some really good petential. Let me know what you think about Russel Brand and if, in you'r eyes, he's a rising star.

Also, I heard that he was addicted to drugs and alchohol at one point, but is now recovered. Does anyone know if there is any truth in this?

I thought his performance in Arthur was adequate, but the movie wasn't as good as the original. I don't know about the drug addiction. Try a Google search. And you spelled his name wrong. He doesn't have a T at the end of his last name.

And I didn't even know this was a remake.

Oh sorry I guess that was an exclamation point. It was a remake of this film. Arthur (1981) - IMDb

He did have a problem with drugs/alcohol yes.

I like him in films and thought he was rather charming in Arthur, will not be seeing the original though, not a fan of Moore.

How could you not like Dudley Moore? He was like a cuddly little teddy bear and he was a very good comedic actor.

I loved the original Arthur and have not seen the remake. Brand rubs me the wrong way. I'm going to skip the remake. I want to remember Arthur as he was. Of course that's not entirely possible since I thought Arthur, on the rocks sucked donkeys!

That is true. You can remember how good the original Arthur was. Dudley Moore pplayed the happiest drunk I've ever seen in a movie.

Russell Brand is one of my favorite comedy actors! I haven't yet seen Arthur, but Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him To The Greek are both some of my favorite comedies!!

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Russel Brand to me seems to be too obnoxious when he makes jokes. It's not that he's not funny, is that anything that comes out of his mouth bothers me.

I didn't like Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The story is pointless and the acting is lacking. Jason Segel can't Film act and Kristen Bell has been appearing in badly made movies.
