Yes yes oh yes. I love all Kevin Smiths movies. I thought Jersey Girl was pretty good, especially since it didn't have Jay or Silent Bob in it. Yeah, Dogma is a great movie and so is Clerks. I also really enjoyed Clerks 2. Did you hear he was directing a horror movie. Sounds weird right?

Dogma is overrated imo.
I've seen similar efforts in "cleverness" and quality when I was in film school. It's like it tried too much to achieve immediate cult status. It's not bad. Just overrated. imo.

It probably is.
When I watch a Kevin Smith movie (I've seen all except Clerks 2) it feels to me like watching a short from film school but with a much bigger budget. You know, one of those "student films" that try to be all clever and cool and funny with edgy storylines, all made to catch the attention of teachers and possibly local newspaper journalists in order to start a career in movie making/Hollywood. The problem with Smith, for me, is that he's already in Hollywood with his own career yet he still makes these "student films". I don't know if this makes any sense to anyone but me. Meh. He's ok.
