Academy Awards!

What are your thoughts about the Oscars this year? Who do you think will be nominated? Who should be nominated and who shouldn't?

I hope Sharlto Copley wins for best actor, I just loved him too much in District 9.
Christoph Waltz, Inglourious Basterds, best supporting actor
Gabourey Sidibe, best actress
District 9, best movie

That's what I can think of right now anyway..

I'm hoping Inglourious Basterds at least gets nominated for best movie. I've heard that this year there's going to be 10 movies nominated in that category, so hopefully it will be.

^ With 10 movies, I'm pretty sure that Inglorious Basterds will be nominated. Now, I don't know about winning.

I think the only for sure nomination (and probably win) will be Christoph Waltz for Best Supporting Actor...considering hes won all but one award hes been nominated for so far.

It's been a fantastic year for movies. I agree with the sentiment for Waltz. I still need to catch a few more flicks before Oscar night. Namely, Crazy Heart and A Single Man but yeah, overall, its been a stellar year for dramas and Sci-Fi flicks. Also, don't be shocked when Avatar gets nominated for Best Picture. It won't win but it will most very likely be nominated, as silly as that may be...

And what about Mo'nique??? She's won almost every award.
I hope Anna Kendrick is the Oscar's night surprise but i'll be very difficult for her :S

Oh, and another Oscar that has the name on it: Best Animation film: UP. With no discussion, don't you think?? Well, maybe there's a little discussion, lol.

Yeah, you're probably right, although Fantastic Mr. Fox is pretty exceptional as well.

Kathryn Bigelow just won the Directors Guild Award for THE HURT LOCKER. GOOD! Anything to stop the juggernaut of Cameron's AVATAR, which, aside from the prettiness factor, really wasnt all that good. As if

the defeated Marines would just dejectedly shuffle back to Earth like concentration camp victims. HA!
