This.

I just wonder if you've seen any of the movies listed above....

No i'm not actually assuming that people went in with high expectations, i was just pointing out i was surprised how underrated it is. And i'd never heard of the character Ghostrider before i viewed the film so it's not like i was a big fan crying in the cinema because it is nothing like it's source material.

Actually, you don't have to be a fan of Ghost Rider to have hated how the thing unfolded. For instance, in the comic he actually sold his soul intentionally in order to save a friend, and when Mephisto (Satan, sort of) used a loophole in that deal to kill said friend Blaze rebelled against him. However in the film he doesn't actually do it intentionally which really removes any depth to the situation.

Personally i just think people shouldn't take things too seriously, films like this, Fantastic Four, sequels, remakes etc.

What do you mean not too seriously? By having no standards whatsoever? By trying to forget that what I'm seeing somehow cost millions yet delivers practically no entertainment? There's trying to have a good time, and then there's lobotomy. I generally wouldn't like to settle for the latter.

And Johnny, Fantastic Four is also incredibly shitty, and don't even get me started on the godawful tragedy that was its sequel. For gods sake it was somehow worse than the ashcan version.

What is the point of making a adaptation if its nothing like the source material. I understand they need to change things in the movies but Ghost Rider was so little like the comic it bordered on pointless

Yeah you kind of have to take films to a serious amount of level. Too much seriousness on watching a movie is also bad. I don't bother watching lame movies that you have already described. Also, when I watched "Ghost-rider", I thought Nicholas Cage got too much credit for such a crappy film. This is only my personal opinion about Nicholas Cage, you say what you think. I really don't care much about the actor.
