What to do with the Review Threads.

I'm just curious and Tyler usually prefers the memebers vote on such changes before he makes a move so if this is the case here, I'd rather just get a jump on it early.

It's a poll for the members on here to vote how they'd like the Review threads to be handled. Not all are even in favour of having them so that option is there as well. So vote away.

I dont every really post in the personal review threads but other people seem to like them. Rather than be a sour puss id rather just see them grouped together

Not in favour of having them. They aren't going to be deleted are they?

I accidentally clicked the second option but I was aiming for the third. I actually got the idea for a review thread from another forum that has dozens of member review threads. To keep them all in line, the forum keeps them in a separate section. With the increasing number here, I think a separate section would be best. Maybe we can finally replace that mostly pointless 'Movie Trailer' section.

That said, if they're all closed, I'd consider leaving the forum. How unfairly and snobbishly controlling does closing them all just because they don't appeal to a few members sound? If you don't like them, don't click on them. And if people think it crowds up the forum, that's just more incentive to create a separate section.

Yeah, just merge it into the title with Upcoming Movies/Trailers - like that.

I'm definitely not for closing them. Although, when someone continually posts two to three sentence "reviews" in their own thread when that little blurb and nothing more would have been perfectly acceptable in the What did you last watch thread, I have to wonder why they have a review thread at all when the entire notion, as I see it, for such a thread in the eyes of the person who opened it would be to set up an environment where they could extrapolate on their enitial thoughts on the film without clogging up the aforementioned What did you last watch, thread.

But whatever, who am I to tell a person how they should run their own thread. Keep them where they are or move them to a sub-forum, I really don't mind.

I brought that up a while ago and the powers that be didn't go for it....

The idea for me to keep a review thread is to keep track of my writings. There are over one thousand pages in the 'last movie watched' thread, and they'd all get lost in the shuffle if I posted them there. Given, I do post my one paragraph reviews in the LMW thread, but others may want to keep an easily accessible record of them.

Well I actually agree with your first part. I think since it's called a 'reveiw thread' a little more effort should go into them.

It's fixed now.

I don'tt think the review threads should be closed. There are people who really like having their own review thread and if someone doesn't like it, they don't have to cllick on it. Either they should stay where they are or have a separate sub-section.
