Thats the same problem i was talking about above - when i go onto the site i'm not automatically logged in either. At first i thought that because the site had been transferred or merged, that you had to make up a new password and it took me a while to find out how to log in. I don't want to make a fuss but the movieforums.org was fine and worked much better as a stand alone forum. I do appreciate your hard work to make improvements, but right now it seems like there are a lot of faults. I don't mean to complain.

I think I've solved my issue. If I come through the main page, instead of coming directly to the forum (which is how I had bookmarked it previously) then I am automatically signed in. But as I say if I come directly to the board I'm signed out again.

It's no problem to come through the main page, it was just a little off putting yesterday when everythng changed.

I'm assuming you mean to just go directly to Movie-fault.com and it will still have you logged in? Tryed that and it won't work. I'll try it later and it may work.

There are a few glitches, and hopefully when the developers are back at work in about 12 hours they should be fixed. Patience, guys!

Staff are having difficulty logging in (including Tyler) because we all had multiple accounts that had to be synchronised.

One reason you may not be staying logged in is that you need to check the Remember Me/Stay Logged In box.

Nah, that's not the problem. Although my "main" account has stayed logged in since yesterday, even when I click Remember Me on the forum account - I refresh the page 20 or so minutes later and it logs me out.

But as you say it's a bit glitchy now, so it could just be temporary until the login link gets put back.

Log in, check both boxes, and bookmark the front page. I don't have any problems at all.

I can only log in through some password reset e-mail Tyler sent me. Nothing else works for me. I always have to log in through my e-mail now.

Actually, I'm having the same problem - can't stay logged to the forum and have to go a long way around to get back in.

As I posted in the other thread:

I apologize for all of this mess, hassle, and confusion everyone. We tested these things on our development server before making them live on the server here, but the transition didn't go smoothly, as you have noticed.

We're still working on the main/forum member integration. It should be working for brand new users, but for members who had existing accounts it's still a bit problematic.

As it currently stands, it appears that users with existing forum accounts before November 2nd can once again log in with their original forum username by going to the forum and logging at the top right. I requested to the developers that this log-in to be brought back so that we at least have the option of trying to log in (as opposed to having the system try to automatically log us in) and so that even if we can't, that we can at least view the forum as a guest.

So, there will probably be some more development and changes on this in the future, but at least it's a bit better than it was during the past 48 hours, and the front site is starting to take shape since most of the bugs have been fixed there.

Again, I apologize for all this, but you should be able to log in now.

Avril and Hart - are you still having the staying logged-in problem?
