The March date is coming from the 16 day tour that Kevin Smith is showing 16 cities a screening of the film and doing a Q&A after the film. RED STATE, U.S.A. Tour Here you can see all the dates and locations of where these screening will take place. Also on this website you can see statements and other information pertaining to the movie. This is his version of marketing for the film. Kevin Smith wants to show his true die hard fans who will pay $55 and up to see the film early and to hear him talk about the process going into the film and how the film has changed him as a director and film editor.

That isn't what you're paying $55 for, it's for the Q&A and to hear him talk about the movie and as for Kevin Smith Q&As they're absolutely fantastic. I've been to one and own the 3 that were released.

It is a tour though, and after each screening he gives a talk afterwards. $55 is about £34, and the average price now for a cinema ticket is £6-7, so really, it's not that expensive or money grabbing when they have the tour to fund I assume, and you do get a talk from the man himself.

Also, not only are you receiving a Q&A, at each viewing they are having a View Askew Garge Sale. This will be consisting of merchandise from past movies, merchandise for Red State, and possibly if you are there early enough and get lucky get to meet Kevin Smith and certain actors and actresses from the movie. Certain Actors and Actresses will be joing Kevin Smith on this journey across America showing Red State. If your lucky WBC might show up and protest the movie at some of the showings. I will personally have a few different picket signs just in case they decide to show up in Austin, Tx.

His podcast with Jason 'Jay' Mewes is also worth a listen.

The whole Smodcast network has terrific podcasts. Smodcast with Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier, Jay and Silent Bob Grow Old Together, and Red State of the Union which is a Q&A dedicated to the Red State movie. There are many others on there for free and are all extremely entertaining. Everyone carries there own sense of movie knowledge and personal experiences throughout the networks cast.SModcast

when they came to dallas a few months ago I saw a kid with a brilliant counter-picket sign. it said: "God Hates Hags" and had a picture of Shirley Phelps-Roper on it.
