Makes me quite cross indeed.
Sometimes a sequel will be made that is better that the original or at least will give justice to the origianl but most of the time they shouldn't have bothered they are that bad.

The only sequels that work, generally, are ones that are at least vaguely planned when the original movie is conceived. The 'bolt on after runaway box office success' breed are doomed to be awful.

Star Wars for example. They planned that to be at least three although then Lucas went crazy and planned nine!

I shudder at the thought of the last 3.

I actually liked the entire Star Wars SAGA. The Clone Wars least delivered for me.

^ The last three or the first three as they were known were good films on their own but nothing on the first three.I like all six films but only if i don't compare the first three to the last three.

Thought Sith was great.
Phantom was way too childish.
Clones was dull as moss.

Just saw Tron Legacy IMAX 3D. Whoahh! Great soundtrack, average movie, but wonderfully imaginative special effects. This is the kind of film that sums up the 'movie experience' for me. Probably not something I'd ever watch on DVD, but still a great night out.
