The Grey
I can't believe how epic this 2nd trailer for the film is. Ridley Scott and his production company helmed this film and by the looks of what I have seen so far, I have to say this quickly shot up to my top 5 to look out for in 2012.
So many things to discuss about the trailer but I'll just start it off by saying the music for the trailer sounds alot like the score from "There Will Be Blood". Good Choice IMO (I'm not a stickler when it comes to original scores). What does everyone think about this one? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1601913/ Cast: Liam Neeson, Dallas Roberts, James Badge Dale, Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo Director: Joe Carnahan Genre: Action Liam Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements -- and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt -- before their time runs out. The Grey
Liam ‘voice like a snow-gritter’ Neeson in survival horror mode, here.
The plot: Spoiler
And it should be a load of old cobblers, but it works terrifically well. Neeson is perfectly cast as the sour, embittered old gizzard who just happens to be something of an expert on all things lupine. The director makes excellent use of the terrifyingly frozen landscape, casting an emotionless eye over the terrain to really drive home the full extent of the survivors’ plight. The wolves themselves are a menacing foe and, though much could be discussed about the plausibility of such usually timid creatures acting in this manner, relax folks; it’s only a movie. It’s a tough watch on occasion, too, with one particularly grisly sequence involving Spoiler
With a bleakness infused in every shot, this may be a Hollywood movie, but it strays far from the well-trodden territory of cliché and Spoiler
Surprisingly powerful stuff.

I couldn't agree more. It had just the right balance of entertainment, desperate survival against the odds, giving up hope and a thought provoking nature to the movie. I also really liked that the ending wasn't happy or sad and got people talking(or frustrated) Liam Neeson is fantastic in it and the situation of course has to mirror his own life in a way since his real life wife died tragically in an accident. Indeed powerful stuff, very emotional, setting just the right tone and not using wolves chasing them as an excuse for gore. Your right it was Hollywood, but unlike other movies out there it felt real!
