Like Jonny says. But I read that they changed the ending of PA eventually and also changed some other things which makes it different from the original screener.
The three endings I picked up from the net, image with the Theatrical and Original:
Spoiler
Original: Kate kills Micah offscreen and then walks into the bedroom with a bloody knife. She then sits and rocks beside the bed for days (long enough that we hear the phone ringing and worried messages left in the background). Katie's female friend then comes to the house worried and Katie goes downstairs where you hear the friend scream. Katie comes back to the bedroom and continues rocking beside the bed as the counter records more days going past. Finally police arrive and as she approaches them with the knife they open fire on her and we fade out to the sound of police radios.
Theatrical: Kate kills Micah offscreen, drags the body into the bedroom, throwing of Micah's body into the camera and then some lame CGI 'demon' morph appears.
The ending that was only shown once, or just a few times, guess we have to wait for the DVD to see all the endings, but this one sounds very cool, bit Haneke style
Spoiler
Kate kills Micah offscreen downstairs, comes back into the bedroom (not looking at the camera) and then slits her own throat.
I have to see this last ending, but overall bit of shite movie.

It all depends how one watches it I would say. If you catch the ending before even watching it like you did, then of course it will be shite.
My friend showed me the torrent with that second ending and though I enjoyed both, that 2nd ending is the more realistic one and perhaps the better choice. I dunno though.
That third one though I don't think I'd care for much because
Spoiler
this demon obviously was very interested in this woman since childhood and jealous of her husband so it's unlikely it would have had her kill herself.
By the way, the one I saw in theatre has words come up just before the end credits, telling us that the husband was found dead the next day and the woman was gone missing.

I looked this stuff up after I watched it So I did not have a friggin' clue what to expect. I only read that there were different versions out there with different endings, but I avoided all spoilers. The trailer shows that CGI 'thingy' that
Spoiler
did not appear in the version I saw, so that was the only thing, I did not know anything about the endings, only afterwards.

That makes sense.

Guess I was just expecting a bit more. Going to check out the torrent endings then.

lol did she see this alone or were you by her side all along protecting her from all of those big bad shadows?
I think I mentioned this already but there was some woman crying hysterically after the movie ended in theatre when I saw it a couple weeks ago. She was really troubled by it and she for sure should seriously stay away from the Horror genre if it's going to trouble her to that degree. Or maybe she just gets a kick out of being traumatized hehe.

Nah, I saw it the day before and I went fishing so she watched alone hehe And I warned her not to watch. And as stubborn as she is, of course, first thing she put on when I left

LOL, guess she likes the scares, but I have to deal with the shit afterwards. She thought we had giant cockroaches in the house once after we watched Mimic Original of Amityville same story, that's three strikes so she's out. No horror from now one

Whats woth all the mixed opinions? Some people are saying is terrifying and some are saying others are being wusses for being scared of it. It must have a very unique way for combining scares if it is achieving mixed reactions throughout the world.
