Ha! I've seen that other image but that ones also great. Oh that Blade and his awesomeness. Although I'd like to see some Buffy and Angel pics. I've seen that Buffy meets Edward mashup video, but rarely see any pics.

Bob, while I can't say I totally disagree with your thoughts on Twilight, I still think there's something to be said of the differences between a guy's and girl's entertainment needs, and clearly Twilight meets many females needs nicely. Of course it's possible that a girl can like the fantasy genre just as much as a guy, but there aren't a whole lot of series that both guys and girls like, except Harry Potter and a few others. Not only that, but every generation has a fad that's seen as "laughable" and embarrasing- Because of that, I think it's arrogant to look down on Twilight or its fans, and it reeks of elitism. We have no right to dictate what people should/shouldn't read, and when we post these threads that marginalize a group of people, that's kind of what we're guilty of. Although I was infuriated with this series at first due to the main character being dominated by a male - But now it's not so upsetting because it's just a novel and it can't bring any harmful effects.

Then to top it off, you're calling anyone who dislikes Twilight because its specifically for girls a hypocrite when they like rave about The Dark Knight; as though both movies are even in the same league. I'd say Twilight were more in line with Batman Forever leaning on Batman and Robin. And I assure you, not many were ecstatic about those.

You have a valid point - But like I've said, your opinion is most likely going to be negative of Twilight because of the different tastes guys and girls have. To you it might be the most terrible book ever, but you have a bias that influences your opinion as a guy. It's probably about as common as a girl liking football - I'm not saying there aren't, but often, guys usually love it and girls tend to prefer something else.

In my reply I used facts and logic to debunk your points, and in response to me you go on your petty little tangents about me not making sense, despite your remarks overflowing with nonsense - Face it, other than throwing out useless statements, your argument has no legs to stand on.

You truly have gotten so unhinged, Bifrost, but all is not lost - You can still salvage your reputation by not continuing your argument, becuase so far, you've been entirely devoid of reason. Don't worry about looking like an airhead either - When I first started on forums, I screwed up my reputation to. You'll settle in.

You do realize that there are fantasy series' that exist before the 1990's right? I'm just saying I don't see why you're fine with girls settling for this when there is bound to be tons upon tons of better written stuff.

I look down with pity, not scorn. Similar to how older people must've looked at me when I was small and had N'Sync and Backstreet Boys merchandise. God help me if I ever get a time machine I'd beat some sense into my younger self.

Not to mention, this thread is about the books, not the fans. And hell, should someone post a hilarious pic of some fan, sure I'll laugh. But if they can't take a pot shot every once in awhile, they shouldn't have bought and posed with that lifesize cutout of Edward in the first place.

But seriously, I know its just a book, and its just a phase. Though who are you to say people can't disagree with it? Why can't we make fun of it and point out its flaws? And it's not like I wake up and say "Hmm, I wonder how I'll hate on Twilight today." No. Because I'm not insane. I wake up saying "Hmm, I wonder if I can make an explosion that engulfs and kills Michael Bay on the set of his new movie look like an 'accident'".

I'm aware I probably have different tastes. However I never delude myself into believing that a lot of what I like due to said tastes (mostly cheesy sci-fi, horror or action movies) is perfect. If someone wants to enjoy Twilight, so be it. Just don't go telling me its some masterwork of fiction. And I'm not judging because of tastes here. Amazingly I've developed this thing called rationalization. Using it, I can understand there are a lot of things that I can see aren't to my tastes, but I can still understand why it would be good for someone who does have the taste for it. Twilight I'm afraid just isn't one of those things. At least in my opinion.

Seems there are some pretty strong opinions here, and that is what they are, opinions. At the end of the day people like what they like.

Im a guy, I dont mind Twilight and I really enjoyed The Dark knight. My wife loves both twilight and batman.

To class both films into female/male genre is plain wrong and sexist.
