I finished!

I finally finished the most boring book ever written: Crisis on the Korean Peninsula : How to Deal With a Nuclear North Korea

It is really just a book written for senators and political lawmakers to read, as it states only a suggestion on how to denuclearize North Korea as well as cut down some forces on both the allies and North Korea's military at the DMZ. There is not one interesting page in the book. It is more a military manual for generals to read than anything else. There is no history or anything.

What's worse, is that that authors wrote the book shortly after the war in Iraq began, and thus they proclaim numerous times as to the "success in Iraq", and use it in many of their arguments.

Thank god I finished it.

I can now start Mr. King's next book when I have the time! It's another huge one!

Pro's: So far, I've loved the past 2 King books I've read.. absolutely loved them.

Con's: It's old! Bah..

I don't understand why his TV-movies are mediocre at best. I've heard great things about The Stand (book) but the six hour movie was a borefest. I thought the cinematic version of IT was decent but nowhere near as good as the book.

Is there any other King book you recommend other than The Tommyknockers?

Because King writes a lot about the people's thoughts.. that's like most of the book.. what they are thinking.. so it goes to film very horribly..

I also recommend The Dreamcatcher.. it was amazing.. again.. book was like 9/10 or 10/10.. movie like 1/10..

I'm the one guy who actually liked the movie. The atmosphere was chilling and I felt like it captured a lot of King's techniques. But perhaps I should read the book because if I gave the film a 9/10, who knows what I'll rate the book.

Scott.. I swear to god the film is an absolute shitty movie. They had it at a watchable level for the first 15 minutes or so (cabin stuff, etc.) but man.. the book is so good.. and the movie is much different too.

If you want to see a weally bad Stephen King movie, watch THE LANGOLIERS. The munsters look like fanged Pac-men.

FInally! Please start THE STAND very soon, Tyler! Gahh, you are the only eyoot I know who would finish a boring book just becuz someone gave it to you. Ive read 2 chapters already but youve taken so long, I think Ive forgotten whut I read already.

My Ratings of Stephen King Books/Movies!

SALEMS LOT (David Soul version): B+ / Book= B+THE SHINING: Book: B+ / Movie (Jack Nicholson version): B
New Miniseries: A-

IT. Havent read the book. The movie is B, mostly becuz of the stupid ending in the cave. But Tim Curry is an A!

STORM OF THE CENTURY. Did Stephen King really write a book wid this title?
Or am I imagining things! Colm Feore wuz brilliant! A- !!

It was a telescreenplay. But now I think they have it in book form.

Storm of the Century was one of King's best, and it's identical to the telescreenplay. I don't think a novel was ever written. And Plite, never ever recommend THE LANGOLIERS to anyone.

I absolutely agree...the beginning was pretty good, but it just got progressively worse and worse...How could a great filmmaker like Lawrence Kasdan go so far astray?
