I've seen The Exorcist and I don't recall seeing that scarier than life face!? It looks like some sort of vampire?

There's an Australian film I watched a while ago, it's an old vampire film called Thirst, it was possibly the creepiest film of it's type I've ever seem, and yes it was scary because of how creepy most of it was!

I found Martyrs & Funny Games (Original) disturbing, so yes I suppose that's classed as scary! Both great films, horror fans should see both!

Scary and disturbing are different really. Didn't find either of those scary, but definitely disturbing.

Hmmm that's debatable really, I know there is a difference but when you feel disturbed it's because you are deeply frightened and shocked, so I think there is a relation.

Disturbed doesn't mean deeply frightened for all. I was disturbed, in Martyrs, when the first girl

killed herself
and that was intense sadness for me, not scary... depends on the person. To me, films are disturbing/and scary, or just disturbing.

Watching Jeepers Creepers creeped me out as a kid but that's it really. I don't think the typical horror film is scary at all. I like the more realistic approach of Paranormal Activity as it places you close to the action, I also found Insidious to be a little creepy in the jump scares factor but also a good laugh.

It aint the movie itself, but i recall hearing a couple making love (not what you think, but they were kissing and touching each other) behind me during the screening of some art-house movie. The theatre was less than half-filled. Now that was a scary movie experience for me.

The ring and The grudge really scared me. Sometimes when I'm home alone the ring still does, especially when I'm in the room with the TV off and I think it's going to magically turn on.

I saw The Poughkeepsie Tapes a few months back, at first I thought it was a real documentary and couldn't get proper sleep in days. It had a really big effect on me untill I watched it with my sister and she thought it was a huge joke and loved it.
