It wasn't even incredibly subtle, save for the first half hour, and a lot still happened. I can see how it wouldn't appeal to someone expecting a lot of dialog but the movie did it better than a lot of movies that are heavy on the dialog/singing in terms of Disney films.

I Loved Monsters Inc because of John Goodman. His voice has such great vocal capacity that no one in the film industry has and it makes films better with him in it. Adding Billy Crystals whining voice with Goodmans deep man voice was a monster match made in heaven.

I hate all those singing and musicals as well, but Disney seem to make it bearable when their films are usually overall great.

A Bugs Life is great like all others. When it first came out the problem was people expected another Toy Story.
