Well this isn't about judging objectively, its about favourite directors so you don't even really have to know all that much to have some sort of opinion.

This. And i also love the fact that he seems to make films with subjects you have absolutely no interest in and yet you can still like his films.

Wow, I must see Red State now. Must be good if it's the best Smith movie.

I'd like to see someone rank their fave Hayao Miyazaki films? (Sorry if I've spelt that incorrectly, it was from memory!)

=)

Awesome, I love Hayao Miyazaki pictures - Watch Kiki's Delivery Service first. That was the one that acted as a gateway to me getting hooked to his work. Also, don't watch Ponyo as it's his weakest film, and it'll probably turn you off from seeing anything else from him.

Do watch Ponyo, definitely worth the watch ElfinMagic even though it's not one of the best.

Hayao Miyazaki - Directed only

1. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
2. Princess Mononoke
3. Spirited Away
4. Castle in the Sky
5. Kiki's Delivery Service
6. My Neighbor Totoro
7. Howl's Moving Castle
8. Ponyo
9. Porco Rosso

Aronfsky has a unique directing style which makes him one of my favorites. Although The Fountain was my least favorite of his movies, it was still very good, visually and special effects wise.

Plus Requiem for a Dream remains to be one of the greatest movies I have ever seen.
