Not my favourite Lynch movie, but still excellent.

That would probably be a good idea, haven't seen Watchmen yet, and I refuse to see it until I read the graphic novel.

^well Watchmen is adapted extremely well, a lot of the dialogue is word-for-word even (ive read the graphic novel and own the movie). But Sin City is a combination of several of the stories...thats why its a bit confusing probably

Just finished Stalker and was thoroughly impressed. Although my eyes are really sore from staring at the screen without blinking for periods at a time. Damn you Tarkovsky and your cinematography!

Sin City basically combines 3 Graphic Novels, #1 The Long Goodbye, #3 The Big Fat Kill, and #4 That Yellow Bastard as well as a short story from #6 Booze, Broads, and Bullets which is the short opening. As a whole I find it like Pulp Fiction in that you have many stories that may have little to do with one another, yet they all inhabit the same world and entwine at a certain point. And before you ask why they omitted the second book, my guess would be that 2 is also about Dwight and actually precedes 3, that way making the film seem split unevenly in half rather than evenly in three. But anyways, you should check out the comics, they're pretty good.

Nice, Bob. What else have you seen from Tarkovsky?

So far only that and Solyaris. Planning on seeing more over the winter break as I'll have a clearer mind then. Schoolwork won't always looming over my shoulder and such.

As I have noticed. Although one thing that really struck me was how quickly it moved along considering it's a two and a half hour film. Although I guess it's because the shots are held so long the viewer loses track of time. Either way it went by really fast.
