Just because you are 16 years old, that does not mean that you aren't supposed to like pre 1980s movies. I'm 18 years old this year, and Judgethatmovie9, like me, also has expanded his/her movie tastes.

So i don't see why you should not be doing the same thing, Jonny.
I am fully aware of that and as i've said before i do watch films pre 1980 and have expanded my tastes with films. And it doesn't mean to say just because you watch 5 films a day in the summer that you have watched more films than anyone here, i could say the same thing when is started properly watching films from the age of 10, but i am not. This is not directed at you, but sometimes people are so strong with their opinions that they wrongly end up thinking they are right, which shouldn't happen. People should appreciate and understand people's opinions is all.

Doomsday (2008)

While I can respect Neil Marshall wanting to homage some of his favourite films of the 80s (Escape from New York, Aliens, etc). There just isn't enough of a good film wrapped around that continuous homage to make this film very memorable. It's a decent effort none the less, but not one of his better outings as a director.

Nightmares in Red White and Blue - Some documentary on American horror films... it was ok, had Romero interviewed in it and thats always good

Jackie Brown - A classic! It has been a while since I had actually watched this all the way through but I have been in a Tarantinio kind of mood and this fit in nicely (especially since my copy of Pulp Fiction is screwed up) Sam is at the top of his game in this flick as well, very bad ass.

Gamer - I don't know why the hell I put this movie on for a second time, I thought it was ok the first time I watched it the second time I watched it, knowing how shitty the ending is, I was totally bored. I blame Netflix for not advertising somethign more intereseting

Up - possibly my favorite animated movie. Very funny and entertaining... SQUIRELL!!.. from start to finish

But don't you think that your comment is an insult to not just Movievault, which was founded as an advocate for films, but also to Cinema in general ???

Yes it's amazing how such a simple joke, executed well, just works time after time. Fabulous film!

I only watched one movie at the weekend: I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007) - IMDb - fun silly comedy with a tolerance message built in. 6/10

Jack Goes Boating - Quirky, touching comedy with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Ryan. A bit more drug use than I like, but overall a great story about one couple getting together while another couple falls apart. Yeah, it’s an old story, but the chemistry between Hoffman and Ryan makes the movie.

Extract – Boring light comedy about a guy who owns a flavor extract company, his potentially cheating wife, and a worker who loses his ‘jewels’ in a freak factory accident. Ben Affleck does not help to move the plot along.

The Company Men – Good drama about three men at different tiers in the same company who are downsized. Great acting by Ben Affleck, Chris Cooper and Tommy Lee Jones. As a white collar worker who was downsized three times in four years, I found the story very relatable. Shock, anger, denial, and despair in fair measures.

Antichrist – Gruesome psychological horror. One of the more disturbing movies I’ve seen – one scene makes me wince to think about it, two days later. Great performances by Willem Dafoe, and a very brave performance by Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Ah, maybe it's because i think he is a great director, but i thought this was awesome, along with The Descent And Dog Soldiers. Haven't seen Centurion from him yet. I heard he is doing a horror movie called Burst, but it's not on his IMDB page. Hope he continues to direct.

Centurion was one of the most soulless movies I've seen in the last few years. It always felt like I was watching actors and not their roles. Shame because I like the two leads but it was dreadfully written and the action doesn't save it in the least.
