@Hubbs
I have questions to ask you. 1. How similar is Robert Downey Jr.'s character portrayal of Charlie Chaplin compared to the real Charlie Chaplin? Did RDJ honor the great filmmaker/actor, or did he disgrace himself? 2. What would you rate the film? Recommended? 3. Do you feel the movie Chaplin told the story of Charlie Chaplin's life the way it should? How does it compare to The Aviator? - The movie that tells the story of Katherine Hepburn. You don't have to answer any of the questions if you don't want to. |

Evil Things (2009)
A little disappointing about this movie, not as scary as I wanted to be, as Some really good tense moment, acting was way better then i thought it be. people are really likable in this movie. I seen so many lost found footage movies this year , i have lost count, this it not a great movie but one of the better found footage movies I that i have seen this year. (One of few that i liked) 5 out of 10 Good movie

Downey Jr is remarkable as Chaplin and does him great honour with his performance, as I said in the review Downey manages to capture Chaplin's move perfectly. I never really rate films with a score accept in my Flixster account (check the link in my profile ) where I have to. On Flixster I gave it 4 stars out of 5.'The Aviator' is probably a better and more thorough bio pic about Howard Hughes, both films look gorgeous but Aviator is probably more accurate and better with Hughes life coverage, Chaplin glosses over allot and uses more artistic license...so I've read. Revolver (2005) To be brutally honest I didn't really get this film or follow what was going on after about 30min into it. I know that Statham had been in prison and learning the perfect scam called 'the formula' for seven years and upon release he is out to get Liotta the casino boss. The inclusion of many different characters coming along and Statham being kind of owned by Benjamin and Pastore for most of the film as they help him do something just lost me completely, I really have no clue what the hell the point was or why. Its easy to think this was just another Ritchie gangster flick as it has all the trademark attributes of this but its not, its much deeper than that surprisingly with a complex plot that twists inside out. It certainly looks swish and elegant with a great cast as you would expect but I couldn't make head nor tail of it, not even sure if Ritchie knew what he wanted with this. Best character for me was Mark Strong as the hitman 'Sorter' who has that calm deadly silence about him and doesn't look anything like you would expect a hitman to look like, kinda like 'Leon' really. |
