The Tree of Life. Yes, a bit too much-- of everything, basically. But even so, in terms of cinematography-- 10/10-- it looked like 'a million bucks'.
All-in-all tho, dunno. I guess I need to watch it an additional two or three times. Mhm. Yea, it's one of those type of films.

I wanted to see what what was so great about Hugo that it beat Harry Potter in basically everything it was nominated for. And I have to admit that it is a really fantastic film. I guess there's just no beating Martin Scorsese; unless you're The Artist.

'Hugo' was rather dull in my humble opinion.

Bullet (1996)

Terribly disappointing gangster film with Rourke and Shakur plus Brody, Levine and Donnie Wahlberg! great character actor cast...poor film.

Not much to say really, the plot is nonsense and has Rourke as a Jewish con just outta the joint and living with his Jewish folks! in the mean time he deals drugs, does drugs and not much else really. Levine is his mental weapon obsessed brother who also lives at home and walks around in his Y-fronts all day, Brody is his other brother who is an artist and errr...they all somehow get by doing nothing, really I mean it, nothing during the whole film.

Shakur is another gangster (yawn!) who lost his eye to Rourke whilst they were banged up together so he spends the whole film acting tough and trying to kill Rourke, boring, predictable and totally a waste of time, oh and Rourke co wrote it.

Any film fan, especially of history, should find something in Hugo, can't believe someone found it dull. Indeed a fantastic film and deserved all those Oscars.

Three Crowns Of The Sailor (1983)

Dialogue that is so pretentious that i actually ended up liking this film a lot. 5/5

Yesterday I started watching Moulin Rouge! ..I endured almost 15 minutes before I had to shut it off.. A blind buy gone wrong-- to say the least. Romeo + Juliet, by the same director, is one of favorite films-- so I thought I'd enjoy MR! as well, but no.. By the looks of things, I don't think I will ever try to watch it again.

One of my all time favorites.

Watched The Whistleblower last night. Rachel Weisz was quite good and the story which was based on fact was enjoyable.

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore

Absolutely wonderful! 15 minutes long and it managed to display everything that is so wonderful and magical about books. They truly are fairytales encompassing all imagination and art and swarming colour and youth in peoples lives. Wonderful little nuances and homages throughout as well. Beautiful film.
