Thanks for the recommendations. If I see them coming on on TCM I'll try to tune in.

Star Trek Spoilers

But the details of what he does to achieve this goal are irrelevant. He could be skinning tribbles to create an intergalactic line of fur apparel for all I care.

Your second point is probably the worse case of nitpicking I've ever read. Come on dude, lighten up. Its updated and it looks cool.

Point three, well, it wasn't as fast as his father at least. I agree they could've taken an extra five to ten minutes to make this longer.

My main concern is that there were no Klingons.

lmao that wasn't bad.

Sorry dude, can't help it. I was asked what bothered me so I can't lie. I just didn't like the look of it or the length it took to beam someone up. I read before I saw this film how unique in a good way this new beaming would look to us so I expected better. If I hadn't read that, perhaps I'd never have paid so much attention to it.

His old man was forced into taking over the Bridge just as Spock was earlier. If the other Captain had returned, Kirk's old man would have gone back to his 'number one' status.
Young Kirk had an official ceremony to make him Captain after one mission and it wasn't just his doing to save the other Captain. He got plenty of help.

There's plenty of time to get them in a movie or two in the future so I see no concern there at all.

On a different note, I've been watching this series called 'Monsters' that national geographic have out of which they are investigating unknown creatures spotted by eye witnesses. The first was on some Lake creature that some guy shot a video of, the next was on the 'Jersey Devil' and finally just now I finished up on Big Foot in the Rockies.
Very interesting how they go about investigating these.
Big Foot was the best one cause of the tracks they found in the 800-1000lb range according to the impressions in the dirt and were not created by any known animal.

The Backwoods (2006) (A few spoilers)

Whew, some of this was painful to watch. The feeling of Straw Dogs meets Deliverance never left my head while watching this either. Beautiful woodland scenery, fine direction, great acting (for the most part), and some genuinely disturbing sequences make The Backwoods, for the most part, a good film, despite the weak story.

Two couples visiting the woods of Spain discover a little girl locked inside a cabin. The decision is made to take care of the girl until they can get help from the local police. That is until a few equivocal men show up at their front door demanding to know the girls whereabouts. The two couples make a fatal decision to keep their finding of the girl a secret from the peculiar men, which unleashes suspense-filled terror in the woods.

On a good note; the film is very well-made, incredibly well-acted from its two leads, and a treat to look at. The film succeeds tremendously at disturbing the viewer (well, it disturbed me quite a bit, notably with the rape scene), and building suspense. I note the rape scene as the most memorable and disturbing scene in the film. What makes it even more dreadful to watch is, even when the rapist is shot and killed, satisfaction is the last thing on the characters minds. The cinematography is impressive as well, especially with the rainy woodland scenes.

On a bad note; it suffers from a weak plot-line and cliche story-telling. Some illogical mistakes from the leads may have you scratching your head. For instance (and here's a spoiler), when Paul accepts his fate at the hands of the enemy when he could have easily made an effort to defend himself. It comes about an hour through the film, so I hope I'm not spoiling too much.

The performances are mainly strong, notably from the two leading heroes and the leading villain. The score is fine. It's unique and fits the film rather well. Overall, my only complaints were stated in the above paragraph. It's not great, but an acceptable effort on the part of the filmmakers. I liked it. 3/5

Dark City - Good movie, a movie that I would say was "underrated", even though I really do not like the term.

re93animator, despite these I'm going to check this film out. I don't care about the clichéd scenes and the plot may seem simple but so was 'Deliverance' really and I enjoyed that film.

I was up late last night watching 'Clay Pigeons'. I really liked this film and it ties up the ending quite nicely. Vince Vaughn's character was hilariously disturbed but one you kind of like in an odd sort of way.

Awesome. Are you one of the people who track TCM's schedule and gets yourself notified of films you want to see like I am?

I don't know if I'll be up for Hangmen then but I'll definitely try to see Fury.

Serenity - The visuals were excellent, everything looks real. The dialogue was a little silly in my opinion, I thought they were trying too hard to make it unique. But still, a good movie. 8/10

The Woods Have Eyes - It was okay, not really my kind of thing, but I have to give it a big fat zero because of the ending. I won't say what it was, in case anyone wants to watch it, but I hate it when movies end the way this one did, it really ticks me off.

Dead End - Really weird. At first I had no idea what was going on, I was thinking the movie was going to be dumb. But once I started to figure things out, it was actually a decent movie. 7/10

No. I have Comcast and a DVR and I just scroll through the guide on my TV and record everything I want to see and I've got a bunch of those recording. I'm a big Fritz Lang fan but there are still quite a few films of his from his Hollywood years that I haven't seen so I'm looking forward to that marathon

What was going on there with that 'Grim Reaper' type character and the nurse at the end? Was she his next victim. Seems he only takes souls who don't accept they are dead and I'm sure she was alive there. Also, I think it would have been a nice touch if when they originally got into the accident, they hurt themselves in the ways which they died. Like her brother would bang his mouth on the dashboard etc.
