I finally saw Inglorious Basterds (I'm not such a Tarantino fan) but I really loved this one and this flick surpassed my expectations. I almost thought I was looking to a movie made by a German director. I did not know what the hell to expect really.

I am quite a fan of German and French cinema and I have to admit that he did his history and research here, felt like an 'ode' to German and French cinema one way and the power of the cinema and film the nazis (mis)used for their propaganda the other way. Filled with little things resembling and references to other classic flicks and nazi stuff and all put together in a very good and intelligent way.

I understand German and French and it was lousy subbed IMO to Dutch. Just wondering, was this movie subbed in US and Canada? So it had lots of parts in German language? Even the dialects were done very nice in that barscene.

I need some re-watches on this one, two thumbs up!

Last film I watched was 'Wrong Man' which I figured would have more of a detective story to it instead of the quick ending regarding the case that Hitchcock went with. It's true what certain comments on imdb were saying though. That the suspense from when they first took him to the station, to him walking in front of the witnesses and the night in jail was something you can feel yourself go through as you see him go through it. It was obviously Hitchcock's intention and worked perfectly.
I loved Pretty Women, but doesn't everybody?

Pandorum - Terrific horror/action also with sci-fi elements. I must say i usually don't like sci-fi in movies, but this really exceeded my expectations and lived up to it's critical acclaim. With a budget of $40 million it looks about double that - $80 million.

Yes, the film had English subtitles throughout.

And I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was amazed at how truly phenomenal it was. I had high expectations because I'm a huge fan of Tarantino and always expect greatness from him, and even with the lofty expectations I went in with, he exceeded them.

Surrogates - One of those forgettable films you wished you hadn't paid to see. It was decent enough for what it was. But it wasn't special in the slightest.

Oh crap. I was thinking of another movie lol. I had thought it was 'Mirrors' starring Kiefer Sutherland you were talking about. Luckily I saw this one as well. It was much better than Mirrors though in case you were wondering. The twist got me too actually.

Glad you liked this Deaf Null. But remember I mentioned that they are speaking in the original languages so was subtitled. You got excited when I told you this cause I know you said you knew the German language or told me you did upon hearing this.

So are there alot of illusions and hallucinations in this film? If not, maybe I'll give it a shot after all.

Man, I swear I must be the only one who actually enjoyed this enough to even want to fork over the cash to own the blu-ray as well.

Oh, haha no I haven't seen Mirrors yet. Yeah, I'd feel bad if I had just spoiled a movie you hadn't seen. Mirrors was one I was about to go see, but the terrible reviews it got warned me to avoid it, and I did. I liked The Uninvited's twists...It saved the movie from being mediocre.

I just got done watching Surrogates. I agree that it was forgettable...I'm upset having wasted my money on something that could've been better. I should've seen Pandorum instead, since Jonny was saying it was really cool.

Yes, but I did not expect so much German really Dunno where I got the idea, but I was expecting some crazy slasher movie on Nazis with bit of German and French talk in between. And then I got Riefenstahl Nice.

There were about 30 people in the cinema and half of them left in between
