This was probably my best experience at the cinema by a clear mile. It was just so funny while at the same time jump-out-of-your-seat-horror. Literally. I loved every minute of this. I'm getting it next Saturday through pre order. That plus Trick R Treat which looks awesome. The last movie i watched was Haunting In Connecticut - i was really disappointed. It had it's moments, but barely went past the point of being boring and cliched. Another one of those movies where the trailer makes it look so much better than it actually is.

I saw DMTH at the video store the other day and concidered buying it, but it was just way too expensive, so I chose to wait till the price went down. I'll get it though. It's directed by the guy who directed the Spider-Man films, so it should be worthwhile.

I saw The Stepfather tonight. Although it was critically panned, I still liked it. It does a good job of staying suspenseful by being so tense throughout the show.

Watched Oldboy for the first time last night and was a bit disappointed. It's very overrated IMO - although I will say the reveal at the end was handled perfectly.

The Stepfather looks awesome. It's out in December for me in the UK. I'm guessing a lot of people don't like it cause it sure does like as if it borrowed Disturbia's script. Similar movies about killers trying to make sure their identities are kept secret by any means nessecary. If you liked Disturbia then your bound to like Stepfather. I'll be almost surely be catching this if it's at my cinema, as i had a very good experience with Disturbia in the cinema.

Same here, I find Oldboy also quite overrated.

I watched El espinazo del diablo (Devil's Backbone) from del Toro, very nice horror/mystery movie.

It'll still be better than the remake out on 2010

Directed by Speilberg and Will Smith as the main actor. Dear God they will ruin it.

Ha! That's hilarious. The film will definitely not be a shot-for-shot remake by any means. Both of their reputations are far to wholesome and economically bankable to try to get to "extreme" with it.

I've seen Oldboy a couple of times and whilst I still like it I'm not as much of a fan as I was when I first saw it. I'd advise you to check out the other two movies in the 'Vengeance Trilogy'. Both of whom I think are better movies.

Year One 7/10

Actually not that bad. I laughed a bunch of times throughout, the Bible tie-ins were pretty funny. And Michael Cera continues to be hilarious

Actually, The Stepfather's a remake of an older one that came out in the 1980s, so it didn't borrow any ideas from Disturbia. I hope you do get to see it Johnny-it's an awesome movie, and I think you'd like it. Disturbia was nice, but I didn't get the pleasure of seeing it in theaters. It is a lot like Disturbia, which is what makes it such a sweet movie. It's a shame you have to wait a while till you get the chance of watching it. It really is an enjoyable movie.

I watched "District 9" last night with my girlfriend. The best part of the movie was probably the special effects. Not to say the story line wasn't good or anything, but I was seriously amazed at how life-like the aliens looked. I also got strangely "attached" to that little "kid" alien...good writing I guess.
