Don't let that dissuade you from seeing it. For all you know, she just may have totally different taste in movies from you. I haven't seen it yet, but I wouldn't let one person's opinion keep me from watching it. I doubt it's even as bad as she's saying it is anyhow.^

Man On Fire. Yay, I really enjoyed watching this one. Dakota is precious in this, and Denzel is cool as always. Great film, IMO.

Apocalypto - Just brilliant. Great scenery, great non stop chase sequences, great fight scenes, very tense, everything just great about the whole thing. I never even realised once it had finished that the 132 mintues runtime was up. I was shocked at how great a masterpiece it really was. Especially with Mel Gibson directing. I would have expected some overrated movie with crappy chase scenes and shitty dialogue all because they felt sorry for him over his drinking problems. I could never have been proven more wrong. I thought that because Mel Gibson is drunk half the time that he wouldn't have been able to piece together such a great film. I would now regard it as one of my best thrillers i've ever seen.

Yeah, I might be simply being anal but I disliked it. For some reason, I just saw through it. I only saw smoke and mirrors and the bad stench of Hollywood money.

I'm a chick.

Just watched The Thin Red Line. It was alright. Definitely not what I was expecting, although some great acting by Nick Nolte.
