I never said anything about downloading films. You can't prove anything!

[PLite giggles.]

The first JEEPERS CREEPERS wuz brilliant! It has that undertone of sadness that is present in really great horror movies. I like the 2nd one a little less but I love the creepy beginning of farm blondie in the fields and the rather amusing conclusion. I also love Blowhards on school buses getting their comeuppance.

Try VLC Media Player. It plays far more stuff then WMP - which takes ages to load and I only use to keep my vast MP3 collection under control!

Was reading your Tarkovsky posts. Why have you got "Originally Posted by Andrei Tarkovsky" on some posts you are quoting?

Anyhow last night I finished The Chaser (2008) by first time Korean director Hong-jin Na. Very impressive serial killer thriller. 8/10

Ah right, I knew he was dead. Just thought a member on here was maybe using his name as their username!

Also just noticed Pepper also recommended VLC. I'm a bit tired today!

Responding to the Jeepers Creepers discussion, those are two of my favorite horror movies. The Creeper is one of the scariest horror movie monsters I've ever seen.

Thirst (2009)

Along with Let The Right One In, Thirst is definitely one of the better films of the current Vampire trend; even if Chan-wook Park didn't necessarily mean it to be so. Kang-ho Song, who is again excellent in the role of a priest, disillusioned by his current status volunteers to be apart of some clinical trials for a vaccine against an incredibly potent 100% lethal disease. Having been infected and then subsequently having complications from the disease he is then given a transfusion of what we later find out is tainted blood during the course of the doctors attempts to save his life, which then proceeds to turn him into a vampire...

There are some excellent performances throughout, it's beautifully shot and wonderfully directed. I don't think it ranks up amongst the best of the Chan-wook's Vengeance Trilogy, but it's very well made, enjoyable to sit through and definitely a nice change from all of the sparkliness that has filtered into the western worlds current Vampire fetish.

Death Race 2000 (1975)
Pretty fun, although a little insane, mid 70's action film.

Seems like more people than not on here, enjoyed those films like I did. Kind of making me all giddy inside right now.

Funny enough, I watched an episode of 'Fringe' yesterday after responding to bullitt on here about Jeepers Creepers so it was a bit of a coincidence that the opening scene had a similar feeling to beginning of part 2. It had a scare crow in a field and something hidden around there where the city worker had a bad feeling after hearing something in the grass. And of course there's always the vintage squawking crow on top of the scare crow as a little show of irony there while adding to the atmosphere. The song 'Poor Little Fool' by Ricky Nelson was playing in the background from their truck radio as well which helped with that too.

Anyways, let's just say that the worker didn't fair so good when the scene was over.

The last movie I watched was The Last Mimzy (2009). I expected it was a good movie but I found myself I could not wait to finish watching it! I think plots are flat and boring. Maybe it's about screenplay or actors. Have you watched it? What do you think?
