Dated films can still be great. But, to the average modern movie goer, the cheesy effects and fight scenes could be distracting. You're an exception, which is good.

I've seen countless classic films, and the scene with the time traveler beating the crap out of all the Morlocks in the cave still made me crack an unintended smile.

Splice (2010)

Decent enough for what it was, but on the whole it could have been a whole lot better than what it ultimately turned out to be.

The sci-fi genre probably dates faster than any other, and The Time Machine pushes that theory. In 50 years, its overt aging may be a turn-off to some, but it's still a very fun, visionary flick.
One of my favorites. I first saw this when I was a kid, and remember how impressed I was with it. And the remake did nothing for me, either.

I want to see this, most places havent/are not showing it, so I have to find one of the little known cinemas to watch it in, which inevitably have poorer facilities...

I saw the first Alien vs Predator in Austin, Texas and the cinema knocked the socks of most of the cinemas in the UK

Splice is out on blu ray here on the 29th November. So not too long to wait... Or if you can, it's out on blu ray/dvd in America on the 5th of October with the better cover design. We get the awful 'Species' clone cover/poster design.

Good Morning, Night (2003) set in 1978 Italy, group of terrorists kidnap the President. It's supposedly based on true events.

Dersu Uzala. Don't know why I never watched it before now. It's one of the best movies I've ever seen. The Eagle Song brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it:
