I watched this ages back and can't really remember too much about it. I've ordered it last night to come in the post along with 3 other dvd's for Halloween.

Really? I found The Ring bs compared to Ringu. The Ring won a Golden Trailer Award btw for 'most original movie'

@previous page:I don't know if I want to see Ichi The Killer - is it just a film for its gore? That seems the only reason why it's famous. It's not like a Japanese Saw is it?

I wouldn't mind the gore, but is there a good story/reason for all the violence?

@freak: Which Ring? Japanese or American?

I think if I am remembering this correctly that the movie is based upon a Manga series. So as you can expect the violence - whilst a little excessive - is very cartoon like and over the top, even satirical in a way. Is the violence essential to the plot? In a way yes, the world in which the characters live is an extremely violent one and as I've said whilst it's a little over the top; I think the context in which the movie is based warrants the content within. I don't think the movie would work without it.

Although to be honest I'm not really much of a fan. I felt the plot was weak and the time taken to reach the conclusion wasn't used very effectively. I think it's one of those films you should see at least once just to be able to say you have.

But check it out if it seems interesting to you, don't be put off by what I've said.

Disturbia. Meh-- well, it was pretty O-K. Not that scary really. A straight forward teen movie basically. But not all bad.

Now watch Rear Window and come to the obvious conclusion that it's 10000000000000000X better than Disturbia

Yea, I've heard just that-- about 10000000000000000X too We'll see, maybe I'll watch it someday, mhm. But for now, it's not my top priority.

Just watched Girl Next Door - Great comedy filled with embarassingly funny scenes similar to American Pie. Funny and highly recommended.
