Good idea Freak. I think you'll get more out of this film if you read the novel first then compare.
Claire, this is quite a long film. 2hrs and 43 minutes to be exact. I saw it last night and it is very unusual I'll admit. I think even for as long as it was, there was an intimate scene involving two characters that just seemed rushed. There was one thing that really really irritated me about it though and came near the end that I won't mention here. My thoughts while leaving the theatre was that I felt it could have been better. However, the more I dwell on certain areas of it, the more I'm beginning to change my mind there. It was quite late when I got back home and many times after I think about a film, I can appreciate it a bit more than when I'm actually sitting there watching it.
As for my next film, it was supposed to be 'Pontypool' but as I said in the other thread, it starts far to early for me to catch it on time and only has one showing. So tomorrow I will check out 'Run To Witch Mountain' starring The Rock at a matinée in the theatre near where I live. There's a matinée special (2 dollars)on for all of next week cause of Spring Break and that's the only film playing there that has me interested and I'll be ashamed of myself if I pass up on that deal.
