1. Whut is your Philosophy of Film? That is -- whut genre of film do you love? Whut infuriates you? WHut moves you & makes you cry? Do you always run out to see the latest thing? Whut do you think is the current state of film today?
I tend to favour dramas, but I also like long "epic" adventure movies such as LOTR. I hate films that have cliches left and right, and hate unrealistic films. I usually strive for realism when I watch movies, no matter the genre. I guess that's my philosophy, and why I tend to watch a lot of documentary's. 2. Whut should happen to Polanski? That's difficult. On one hand, he broke some pretty important laws, but on the other hand the victim says that the courts are hurting more by bringing everything back up. He should have been prosecuted years ago... 3. How much do you spend on the cinema every month? Include snacks. I haven't been to a theater in over 3 years. 4. Are you inspired or disappointed by Obama? Neither. Although I liked it when he caught that fly Mr.Miagi style. 5. Whut is your favourite eatery? We don't have that much selection here, so it's hard to say, but possibly Ricky's because they have big servings, a huge menu, the wait time is pretty good, and the food is quite good. 6. Whut are your 3 most favourite books? How many books do you own? Whut is your favourite genre? Whut would you recommend to us all? My 3 favourite books are possibly A Wolf's Hour, Speaks the Nightbird, and Queen of Bedlam.... ugh, maybe replace A Wolf's Hour with The Stand. 7. Whut is on your desk at the moment? Which desk? I have 3 in my office. 8. Whut would you rather haf? A 45 inch flatscreen TV, a new couch, a new laptop, the latest high techy cell phone wid all them little doodads on it, or a pet? A pet by far. 9. How has the Recession affected you? Are you employed? Will unemployment in America/Europe/Australia or wherever you are be forever double digitized? The recession hasn't affected me too much, but it's really impossible to say with my line of work. I'm self-employed. 10. Whut is your favourite piece of clothing? Do you agree wid Hannibal Lecter that your shoes always give away your social standing? Seriously! He implied as much to Clarice! I have no favourite piece of clothing, and Hannibal's statement is wrong. I know at least several multi-millionaires personally who wear simple sneakers. 11. How much time do you spend on the internut every day? Has the internut affected you for better or worse? If you didnt have the internut, would you know whut to do wid yourself? I spend roughly... 6 hours on the Internet everyday. It has affected me both positively and negatively, but probably for the best. If I didn't have the Internet, it's hard to say what I'd be doing. Perhaps something with music, or else animals. 12. Would you rather be super rich or super smart? Super smart... although it depends in what. I'd rather be super rich than a super smart biologist for example. If you just mean in general, then I'd rather be super smart. 13. Who is the WORST Person in the World today? He/she could be anyone -- it doesnt even have to be someone we all know. That's difficult to say. Perhaps a ring leader of human trafficking. 14. Whut wuz/is your favourite subject in school? That varied. In high school it was band though, if you consider that a real subject. 15. Do you like your job? I love it. 16. Do you believe in ghosts? Would you live in a haunted house if it wuz rent free? I don't believe in ghosts and I live literally right behind a Chinese cemetery. There are no such things as haunted houses. 17. Who in the World would you most like to meet? That's difficult. Maybe you. Or Tony Robbins. 18. If you were a double amputee, and you reached the top of Everest wid a 10 person entourage helping you up & eventually down the mountain, do you think your Achievement singles you out as one of the Greatest Mountain Climbers? No, I'd think it would single me out as one of the world's greatest backpacks. |

1. Whut is your Philosophy of Film? That is -- whut genre of film do you love? Whut infuriates you? WHut moves you & makes you cry? Do you always run out to see the latest thing? Whut do you think is the current state of film today?
I love most genre's of film, I tend not to favour musicals. But other than that if the movie has true quality about it then I'll watch it. If I had to choose one genre in particular that I enjoy the most then I would probably have to say Science fiction. Bad remakes of great movies infuriate me. I don't cry all that often at movies. And I can't remember the last time so I'll have to pass on this one. I tend to go an see a new film every week or at least every other week. I don't think the current decade will go down in history as a time of great movie making. Of course there is the odd gem like every era, but I don't think it's enough to make up for the dire quality of a lot of modern movie making. 2. Whut should happen to Polanski? He had sex with a 13 year old girl and then fled the country. He should get whatever punishment they give him if he ever makes it to trial. I've lost a lot of respect for some of the big name filmmakers who have come out and sought his release. Yes, he's a great filmmaker but nothing can condone what he did. 3. How much do you spend on the cinema every month? Include snacks. £17-£20 ish 4. Are you inspired or disappointed by Obama? He doesn't seem to be the person everyone voted for. Yes, he gets people excited but when you really look into it his policies haven't really been as earth shattering as we all thought they were going to be. Closing GitMo and taking the first steps to leave Iraq I can commend him for. 5. Whut is your favourite eatery? Not much of a fast food eater, but I suppose I order the odd Domino's now and again. 6. Whut are your 3 most favourite books? How many books do you own? Whut is your favourite genre? Whut would you recommend to us all? 1. Steppenwolf - Hermann Hesse 2. The Plague - Albert Camus 3. Valis - Philip K Dick (This is subject to change) All in all I own about 800 books. 650(ish) read, 150(ish) unread. Science fiction. Read my top three and you'll be off to a good start. Read as much Philip K Dick as you possibly can. And check out Mockingbird by Walter Tevis - it might knock one of those off of the top three. It really is an excellent book. 7. Whut is on your desk at the moment? Far too much stuff. Is a rather big desk so it's full to the brim with paper and books and other junk. 8. Whut would you rather haf? A 45 inch flatscreen TV, a new couch, a new laptop, the latest high techy cell phone wid all them little doodads on it, or a pet? A new laptop would be nice. But I'm going to have to go for the TV 9. How has the Recession affected you? Are you employed? Will unemployment in America/Europe/Australia or wherever you are be forever double digitized? Being a student it hasn't effected me all that much. The markets do seem to be picking up. Housing prices are also picking up so it would seem that the markets are staring to rise again after this slump. Hopefully because of this the unemployment levels will begin to rise soon as the trust in the markets begins to grow. 10. Whut is your favourite piece of clothing? Do you agree wid Hannibal Lecter that your shoes always give away your social standing? Seriously! He implied as much to Clarice! Don't have a favourite piece of clothing. I wear what's comfortable on my feet. Which usually equates to my pair of beat up old Nike's. So what does that say about me? 11. How much time do you spend on the internut every day? Has the internut affected you for better or worse? If you didnt have the internut, would you know whut to do wid yourself? A couple hours a day, usually mid afternoon and night. It hasn't effected me at all I don't think. If I didn't have the internet I'd probably spend the time I do on here reading and studying more. 12. Would you rather be super rich or super smart? Rich. I'd rather have a comfortable life than not. Although can't the two be mutually exclusive? 13. Who is the WORST Person in the World today? He/she could be anyone -- it doesnt even have to be someone we all know. I'll have to get back to you on that. 14. Whut wuz/is your favourite subject in school? Biology. I enjoyed all the sciences, but biology especially was the one I most enjoyed. 15. Do you like your job? Does being an unemployed student even count as a job? ![]() 16. Do you believe in ghosts? Would you live in a haunted house if it wuz rent free? There is no such thing as ghosts, spirits etc etc. 17. Who in the World would you most like to meet? Tom Waits or Bob Dylan 18. If you were a double amputee, and you reached the top of Everest wid a 10 person entourage helping you up & eventually down the mountain, do you think your Achievement singles you out as one of the Greatest Mountain Climbers? No but the people who carried me up are. |

1. Whut is your Philosophy of Film? That is -- whut genre of film do you love?
Whut infuriates you? WHut moves you & makes you cry? Do you always run out to see the latest thing? Whut do you think is the current state of film today? I'm an Action/SciFi nut. I hate anything with Ewe Boll's name on it and people who prattle on about how awful America is. Movies like 7 pounds. Not usually. It has its ups and downs...I really like to see better foriegn films...just not drama or musicals. 2. Whut should happen to Polanski? He should be flayed alive. Alcohol, Drugs, and sex with a 13 year old is wrong no matter how long ago it happened. He's a pedophile and should be prosecuted as such. 3. How much do you spend on the cinema every month? Include snacks. Not much, I usually wait till it goes to DVD. 4. Are you inspired or disappointed by Obama? Yes 5. Whut is your favourite eatery? El Jalisco's Mexican Restaurant 6. Whut are your 3 most favourite books? How many books do you own? Whut is your favourite genre? Whut would you recommend to us all? The hobbit, The Wheel of Time, Cryptonomicon Thousands...well not anymore, I gave tons of books away SciFi/Fantasy Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson 7. Whut is on your desk at the moment? Besides the cup of coffee...MilPDS Library/Form/Folder 11i Upgrade Guide oh, an a sign that says, "Bad day in progress, Approach at your own risk" 8. Whut would you rather haf? A 45 inch flatscreen TV, a new couch, a new laptop, the latest high techy cell phone wid all them little doodads on it, or a pet? My TV's bigger, I don't need a new couch, I don't like laptops, I'm not keen on a cell phone that's loaded with crap I won't use, and I hate pets...unless they're deep fried with Cajun spices. 9. How has the Recession affected you? Are you employed? Will unemployment in America/Europe/Australia or wherever you are be forever double digitized? The recession has not really had any effect on me. I'm still employed (even though Casca keeps trying to get rid of me). I'm figuring things will settle back to the 3% growth rate and unemployment will return to 4% or 5%. 10. Whut is your favourite piece of clothing? Do you agree wid Hannibal Lecter that your shoes always give away your social standing? Seriously! He implied as much to Clarice! Don't really have a favorite piece of clothing but yes, I'd agree about the shoes. 11. How much time do you spend on the internut every day? Has the internut affected you for better or worse? If you didnt have the internut, would you know whut to do wid yourself? Intranet/Internet about 10 - 16 hours a day. It keeps me employed. Move to management. 12. Would you rather be super rich or super smart? Super Smart 13. Who is the WORST Person in the World today? He/she could be anyone -- it doesnt even have to be someone we all know. Me 14. Whut wuz/is your favourite subject in school? Strangly, I really like Accounting. 15. Do you like your job? Yeap 16. Do you believe in ghosts? Would you live in a haunted house if it wuz rent free? No and Yes 17. Who in the World would you most like to meet? Lucy Lui 18. If you were a double amputee, and you reached the top of Everest wid a 10 person entourage helping you up & eventually down the mountain, do you think your Achievement singles you out as one of the Greatest Mountain Climbers? Nope |

![]() Okay as I'm here a quick synopsis. Basically it's a first person account by a lonely man who starts out seeking nothing more in life than the intellectual pursuit of knowledge through the reading of books and writing etc. But his life is changed when he meets a woman who introduces him to other pursuits that go far beyond his sturdy singular world. Sounds simple enough, but it so isn't. I think it's a brilliant piece of work and out of all of the Hesse books I have read so far (which must be nearly all of them) I still consider it his best. I don't want to give too much away so I'll stop there. If you decide to read it, tell me what you think. |
