FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO PARTY

hahaha this made me laugh..

Prisoner fights for right to play Dungeons and Dragons | News Bizarre | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

Quote:
Singer, 33, has been a devoted player of the fantasy role-playing game since he was a child, according to the court ruling. After the ban went into effect, prison officials confiscated dozens of Dungeons & Dragons books and magazines in his cell as well as a 96-page manuscript he had written detailing a potential scenario for the game that players could act out.
Prison officials enacted the ban in 2004 after an inmate sent an anonymous letter expressing concern about Singer and three other inmates forming a "gang" focused around playing the game.

I think people in jail in have it far too good. I mean jail is about punishment, and there are people (mostly homeless) who actually want to go to jail here. They commit crimes so that they can go to jail.

The system is so messed..

Wow, Ok.

Now, I'm going to try may hardest not to be Drunk Butthole Grindslave, as I'm very very inebriated (if that's how you spell it?) right now.

a proven statistic, 90% of the jail (not prison) population are full of common weed smokers, and unjust crimes later appealed in the court of law, in the US.

I have done time in Jail for silent protesting, and have done time for being beaten up by another individual, I have done time for another thing as well, some of which, yes I should have been out in Jail for.

Jail is a punishment, yes. To honestly take away some of the few things you get as an inmate, living the REST OF YOUR LIFE behind bars, is wrong. should you make all inmates eat catfood sandwiches (yes, catfood sandwiches, that is what you are fed in county jail) for the rest of they're lives due to a mistake? Is it not punishment enough to live away from your family and friends, and amongst gangsters, child molesters, and perverts? Have you never made a mistake Shoegirl? Should these people be denied Human Rights because they broke the law by driving without a seatbelt, or by smoking marijuana at a party? you do realize, in the US and Canada, there are people who have actually been arrested for this (ok, maybe not the weed part for canada, but still you get my point)? Even the hardcore criminals, they are still people.

my point to this rant, is that the fact that I have been there, and seen how inmates are truly treated (I mean, we were minimum custody.. sentenced to ridiculous jail sentences because we couldn't afford to bail out, while people with money can buy they're way out of it), and treated like child molesters and murderers.

If you were to be arrested for jay walking tommorow (yes this offense is punishable by jail time in the US, i don't know about Canada), simply because you didn't have $150 to go home, do you think you should be treated like shit and eat like a common house pet? I don't believe you should, I believe, although you made your mistake of crossing the street unlawfully, that you should be able to have common things like books, coffee and edible food.

What people don't realize, is that these inmates are treated like animals, and yes, some people arguably should be treated this way, but if you are a believer in Equal Rights, or Human Rights, then you should (IMO) at least be granted the simple pleasures of real food, and some liberties such as board games or simple reading? It's not like they are giving these inmates drugs and alcohol (Legally)!

I have already rambled thus far, so I will not go into the corruption of the Police Force, or the denial of the amendments to US inmates. Even while alot of these people truly are criminals, many are put there for bullshit reasons. I am completely and utterly against a Police State, as a majority of the Police in the United States are the worst criminals. If you would like, I will post my essay on the Police State in the US, and maybe although you didn't like my shoplifting from white collar criminals manifesto , just maybe you could relate to my essay on the social criminals known as the united states fraternal order of "Peace" Officers.

i'm done rambling.. no offense intended, just my opinion... I think your an extremely smart person, shoegirl, I just don't agree.. that's all.

In Canada people in jail are fed pretty well...

Many years ago I toured a police station and temporary holding cells..The people who end up in there are treated very well indeed.

I agree many police officers are on the dark side. Robert Dziekanski who was to be a new Canadian immigrant who was tasered multiple times by the police imo is a good example of this. I'm not sure what they showed in the US about this but in Canada it was pretty horrific imo. The Polish government is or was trying to get the Canadian officers tried for murder in Poland. I don't know how much success they are having though...

The 90 percent thing was me drunkenly exaggerating, but I do know it's over 70 percent. The reason so many states are trying to decriminalize marijuana use is to empty the prisons to make room for criminals.

Believe it or not, I don't smoke pot, I have no problem with it.. I'd rather people smoked weed instead of crack for that matter. I'm just a drunk.

and yes Shoegirl, Police Officers are indeed on the dark side of the force.

My grandfather was a retired police officer, and he even stated that the Police Force the united states has now is totally different then in his day. The police state is not a paranoid conspiracy, it is a reality.
