Pathetic

BBC News - Atheist guilty over cartoons left at Liverpool airport

Is this a joke? All the guy did was leave some "insulting images" in a prayer room and apparently it made some preacher throw a childish tantrum. Instead of calling someone to whine about it, this crybaby took a lawsuit against the atheist and it's landed him a six-month prison sentencing. This should terrify us. I think the religious have become too sensitive over their precious beliefs. Anytime someone's feelings are deemed more important than another's rights, it begins to look alot like a theocracy.

So what do you all think?

F**k thats all I can think...lol Yeah I share your sentiments about religious figures being too sensitive.. Its Pathetic.... I totally don't find debating with them about they position of power at all worth it. Cause of they lack of consideration for other human beings and to allow being to live, expression, have options about the world and its people, without being hit over the head with ideological crap... There I've said it, crap..

Ya this is a little ridiculous. I can understand the priest being upset but saying its wrong is just silly. Although I can't really say I'm all that terrified just yet. From what I've read Canada is quite bad at catching and convicting minor things like this.

The Preacher is behaving like a drama king - Just because he got his feelings hurt over something petty, it doesn't mean he should act like a little kid. Reporting someone for "insulting" you is something third graders do. It also shows he has an inflated ego - Putting his feelings over the man's freedom as if he has some entitlement for that.

These people love to take everyone's rights away - Everyone's except their own. Ah, just let them cry, it's what they do best.

So you have no problem with it? Nobody should be prosecuted for offending someone. Ever. Offending someone isn't and shouldn't be a crime.

Whether or not that's true, it's irrelevant to this thread. The law and the way they applied it are absurd - Freedom of speech means you won't be arrested for expressing yourself, however offensive it may be. You think it's ok that this guy was prosecuted for leaving some cartoons in a prayer room? Really?

If you are going to be a *militant atheist* bent on offending just about every religion, then you have to accept the consequences of your actions. And becuz he didnt check the *draconian law* bulletin, he is now going to jail. So yeah, Dark, I guess its fine wid me that hes going to some ickle prison where he is gonna be fed & housed for free for a few months. So whut are you going to say to me now?
