You know, they don't call it the unconscious for nothing. We're not conscious of what it contains.

We can become aware of unconscious elements in our personalities when a behaviour, thought or emotion of which we were unaware manifests. Like a Submissive Character when we're pulled over by a cop, or a Bully Character when we meet someone weak and pathetic. Or a Rescuer character when someone is in trouble (or not).

The 'subconscious' is generally thought of as having different features to the unconscious mind. To me that are so similar that disctinctions blur.

However, if we discover we have a subconscius part of ourselves operating when we would rather not - say, be submissive with authority figures, or menacing and sadistic with those weaker than ourselves, or interfering when people do not need or want our help - then becoming conscious of it goes a long way to changing that 'unconscious' behaviour.

You haven't met my subconscious, Sunfrogoloops. (Evil laugh in the wings...)

Today I posted some stuff then I read P'Litey's Saddam thread. It made me want to take pictures. So I looked around and didn't see anything interesting. Later I was sitting outside enjoying the beautiful day and some sparkley cans caught my eye. Here they are.

I don't know why that number 8 is on our trashcan. My dad painted it there. I don't know why. It's a mystery.

These two rubbish bins are chock-a-block full of empty cans. I like saying rubbish. Rubbish! Rubbish I say!

I messed with the exposure of this pic in Photoshop. I think that's cheating but I'm not sure. Photographers do all sorts of after the fact editing to photos to make girls look prettier or make sunsets more vibrant etc... I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Guess what kind of beer is my nephew Jaime's favorite. Heh. I don't drink myself because it makes Hellespont manefest himself.

Sunfrog you should cash in on those cans! It looks like you have quite a few. I remember when I was saving for my Europe trip in the travel club. We collected cans, and that helped with the expenses.

Today I went to vote. On one question there was only one candidate and it was a filthy Republican so I voted for Other and wrote my own name in. I hope I win, then I can be Mine Inspector.

The Propositions are my favorite. That's when you get to vote for stuffs like:

Should there be a ban on cigarettes? Yes! Ban those filthy things!
Would you like to ban gay marriage or make only marriages between a man a woman legal? Huh? This question was so confusing the way they wrote it I'm not sure what I voted for.
Are you for or against cruelty to pigs and calfs? Against!
Should English be our official language eventho the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional? No, duh, it says right in the question it's unconstitutional.
Should you deny illegal aliens basic rights? No, I like aliens, human or otherwise.
Should you be denied probation if you are under the influence of meth amphetamines when you commit a crime? No, wait, yes, uhm.. no. No, I think I vote no.
Some question about property taxes and junk. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah. That's what it sounded like to me. I voted no because I didn't understand the question. I hate tax questions.
Should everyone who votes be entered into a sweepstakes to win a million dollars? Yes! Whee! Show me the money!

There's more but I don't remember them right now.
