Is there a thread you wish you can make, but don't have the time to? If I've got the time, I'll make these threads:
1. The Acting Thread (Is there a better name for this? Please let me know). 2. Which Movie Soundtrack Is Better And Why? (I host) 3. Which Actor/Actress Is Better And Why? (I host) 4. The Interview Series (Separate Threads for individual members) 5. Judge Vs Bullitt Movie Debate Thread (Reviewing the same movies, with varying opinions). |

I do like the idea of a debate thread. That's the one glaring thing that I think this forum is missing. There's barely any "discussion" of films. There's just individual posters saying a line or two about their thoughts on certain films.
Nobody ever really argues, unless I initiate it ![]() The thread doesn't need to be created solely for two posters to go at it, but if it were structured like bluetoon's "broaden your horizons" thread, with two people being selected to kick off a debate on a certain film, I think it'd be a hell of a lot of fun. And, not to exclude others, posters who are not the chosen two debaters can still certainly weigh-in. It could be a great way to get some real film discussion going, and I've always felt that argumentation is a great way to strengthen your ability to construct and convincingly make intelligent points. It seems everyone around here avoids arguing about movies as best they can for fear of being offensive or impolite, which really irritates me. Arguing about movies is way too much fun to be avoided the way it has been on here
