Escape:

*Spoilers for Stargate*

The thing I hated about the movie was how easily Kurt Russell was going to destroy the entire area with that nuke, killing even the common folks. Doesn't sound like a father who recently lost his child.
Ya but remember at the beginning he was sitting there in his son's room with a gun so the guy was obviously half a bubble out of plum from the git go.

It's funny cause me and my brother were watching that scene and discussing it too. We were figuring it could either be suicide he was thinking about or just reminiscing on sad thoughts since it was the same gun perhaps that killed his son he was holding in his hand.

I dunno. I just find it tough to believe for a dad who loved and lost his son to be able to put his mission first and kill all the innocent woman and children in that village just to prevent the 'real' enemy from going through the Star Gate which could have been prevented by destroying it with just a small bomb to begin with.

I finished the movie last ngiht. Wow, i dont remember 90% of it. Its been about 10 years since i saw it for the first time.

Still enjoyable but a few probelms. SPOLIERS! Jackson in the beginning speaks to an audience about how the ancient egyptians were not the builders of the great pyramids. After that, the movie no longer mentions any of this and quickly becomes an action sci/fi flick.

Ok, in the middle we learn that Raa came to earth and met primitive humans and was responsible for civillisation but it was still quite brief. Overall, i think the ancient astronaut thing was just something to get the movie started so roland emmerich can do the usual blow em up spectacles. lol.

I really would of loved to see more of the ancient astronaut theory but hey, still enjoyable. That guy who played Raa looked a bit femminine but the contrasting beastly voice is very effective. Good performance. (facial expression from the actor who played Raa).

Yeah I guess they just wanted to show that he was supposed to be some know it all when it comes to that so we can have an idea who he was.

They needed that though to show that what was done on that planet, was done on the earth and to likewise give us some insight as to why Ra wanted us destroyed since he knew the trouble that was caused by us to begin with. He didn't want it happening there since he felt like some kind of God.

That's funny because my brother was over watching it with me the other night and I commented how when I first saw it in theatre, I thought it was a girl. It was my friend after the show out in the parking lot who convinced me otherwise. Anyways, he tells me that's the same dude who was in some weird as hell movie 'The Crying Game' and..........*Spoilers* he played a chick in that and at the end we find out this chick is a guy lol. So yeah, that fellow does have the feminine looking face and body since they picked him for that movie.

Oh dear. typecasting the poor dude.

Was in the bookshop yesteray and wanted to find a good book on the ancient astronaut/pyramid theory. I came across one called "stargate conspiracy" which was written by two authors. One of them was lynn picknett.

The book claims to be groundbreaking evidence on the theory but i read a bit of it in the shop and was put off how they discredited the pro ancient astronaut theory scientists like hoagland etc. They said he forced evidence to fit his ideas and that his evidence wasnt convincing. For a book that seems to be supporting extraterrestrials i was shocked.

I quickly turned to the end pages to see how it would conclude and the authors said something like " no scientist, teacher or priest can ever prove the theory. We just have to wait and see...." etc. Now does this sound like groundbreaking stuff? It seems like the authors were no closer than anyone else. lol. Didnt bother buying it.

LOL, sounds pretty typical really, I mean aren't most things portrayed that way when it comes right down to it? Even if you had proof of these things you may water it down enough so you're life wouldn't be in danger, Because let's face it especially in my country , America, if you speak to loudly about something you believe in you either get labeled a kook or an extremist of some kind and could potentially end up in jail or dead.

I have realised that even the strongest believers and ones supposedly with evidence do hesitate sometimes when admitting whether ufos and aliens exist or not. Hehe.

Mm-hmm. I remember those things. The size of records. Good quality though. Surprised they didn't catch on. Perhaps the size had to do with it. I dunno.

That's the sweet thing about books. You can go to the end to find if it backs up it's claim or not heheh.

Yep, I would too. Notice I haven't weighed in on what I believe yet, (looks over shoulder) and I may not we'll see if I lose them first.

ESCAPE. About mission to mars. U are about to be arrested my friend

"in violation of movie laws that films be recommended only if they are deemed above average"

lol just kidding But man, that wasnt such a graet film. The end part was quite good and was wondering why they didnt have this quality throughout the entire film?

SPOLIERS!! The face on mars was good. When they went inside and learnt how life on earth formed i was blown away and found it inspiring. I just wished they spent more time on that rather than the near disastrous rescue mission which dragged on a bit.

Although it would of been pure speculation, i would of loved to see what life on mars was like, how much the same their civillisation was to ours and why they keep on visiting us. The special effects was pretty good too.
