With Claire, Adam, Sylar, Peter, and now Mr. Petrelli, the brain must remain intact in order to allow for regeneration. Adam explained this to some extent to Peter last season. A single cell won’t do it, otherwise Claire would now have a clone from the toe she cut off.

I thought it was pretty weak the way Petrelli senior killed Maury. So, to simulate a neck snap, all you need to do is turn your head sharply in one direction? Lame! I expexted Maury to say, "Hey, thanks, that really took the kink out!" They could've spent a few $$ on a special effect, but I guess they wasted that on Knox punching his fist through Parkman jr.

With Maury dead, I wonder how long it's going to take before Nathan says to himself, "Gee, I wonder where Linderman is?" Hmm...

IMHO, the writer is full of it. Yes, it's off to a much weaker start than season two (and certainly season one), but there's still hope for the show. Their example of Maya and Alejandro's storyline as the JTS milestone is reaching. Maya's story and her eventual meetup with the powers-emasculated Sylar moved the story forward. Admittedly, there's far too many coincidental meetings: in the middle of Africa, Matt runs across a native that just happens to be painting the future about him; Claire is outside Pinehurst Industries right as Peter is thrown through a window; and yeah, Maya and Alejandro do happen upon Sylar in Mexico. But I think to say the show is now past its prime isn't true.
