I am also reading KING OF THRONES, and I figured out a few things that I had missed. For example, the guy who was dead at the first ep was not the King but the King's Hand. And also that his wife is that crazy lady at the Eyrie. The book fleshes out the story for me. And I enjoy the series even more.

^Nice clip. I have the books, but I decided not to start reading them until the first season is finished. Then I am going to re-watch the season and read the first book. Yes, I am a dork, but it gives me something to look forward to in between seasons.

I wuz footling through Books 2-4 (never read any) and I am worried that the vast number of characturs in the Appendix will make the series even more complicated wid every passing season. Eventually, each book might require 2 seasons each and I dont think HBO is prepared to make a commitmment of $60 million per episode for 6 more years.
