Exclamation Lone Ranger on Hold

The fact that 'Cowboys and Aliens' hasn't done so well has put this film in trouble.

Planned production of 'The Lone Ranger' is halted - latimes.com

I would suggest this is only a minor snag for Lone Ranger. The article seems to think that it will still be in the cinema's for christmas 2012. I imagine it will be, a family film released at Christmas, with Jonny Depp is bound to take in a massive amount of money. Especially as it is the Lone Ranger character, played by the non-threatening Armie Hammer. It'll get back on board soon, I think maybe Coboys and Aliens has just given some producers cold feet, there are enough others knocking around Hollywood to get this project back under way soon.

The film sounds terrible to me, a kind of 'Green Hornet' copy set in the west with the sidekick being the more heroic and intelligent of the two, very unoriginal.

There is also rumours of werewolves being involved for gods sake! ridiculous, why on earth they have to remake everything is beyond me, wouldn't be so bad if they were actually good films but you just know this will be a childish, slapstick, forgettable rehash capitalising on the 'Pirates' flavour.

I hate how Hollywood is now so devoid of ideas they are remaking anything they can get their grubby little hands on wether its a good idea or not and with no apparent care to upholding the quality or originality of the material. If they actually did that then many of these remakes/reboots wouldn't be so bad and forgotten about within afew months.

(I think Greg Kinnear would of made a good Lone Ranger actually, if you are gonna go down the dumb comedy route that is)

I've never read the comics and so on, so I gather there were no werewolves anywhere in sight then?

Don't think so, did you know 'The Green Hornet' is a spin off from the Lone Ranger?

The Lone Rangers nephew has a son....Britt Reid.

I didn't know that. I quite enjoyed The Green Hornet though, the 2011 film that is. But never had any interest in the Lone Ranger movie.

The Green Hornet was all over the place, with extra shitty 3-D and a not needed Cameron Diaz, but granted there was something good about it, don't know what though.

^ I saw it in 2D, and not a fan of Diaz so would have prefered a different actress, but I found it a lot of fun when Seth Rogen was not too over the top.

Do you prefer him in The 40 Year Old Virgin over Pineapple Express?

I would like it if he plays his funny roles more seriously like the first movie mentioned.
