Unsolved Please Help: Movie similar to Weekend at Bearnies but 90s or 00s

Hi again everyone, I would really like to see this comedy film again but cant remember the name or where i saw it etc.

It is like weekend at bearnies i think, or at least has a big portion in it where the main characters (a bunch of guys) get on it and party hard with their friend who is dead. i think he dies just before his b day party or something, and im not quite sure what happens but they get into all kinds of mischief with him and figure since there throwing him the party he has to join them dead or alive.

I though it was a lot funnier than weekend at bearnies, and it was a lot newer.

If anyone could help id be very greatfull.

Usually nobody answers these posts unless they can but I know you've gotten enough views for most who do check these out, to have answered by now if the knew the answer. I don't know the answer myself. Pesonally, I only know of that 'Weekend at Bernie's' film to have made most of an entire movie up about pretending their friend is alive but dead.

yea, i saw the views and was surprised no 1 knew it as i thought it was a lot more popular. must not of been as popular as i thought though.
i think maybe the whole movie pertained around the dead friend, i saw this 1 before weekend at bearnies and now think it might have been a remake or modern take on it. cant find it anywhere though so who knows, and if noone on here can pin it i dont know who could. maybe it will remain a mystery.

Checking around, there's a movie called Enid Is Sleeping (1990) - IMDb that sounds similar anyway regarding pretending a dead body is alive except the dead person is a woman and I don't believe a bunch of guys are involved. I haven't seen it though, just guessing.

Although I haven't seen it, I think they made a part 2 of Bernie's. You mention that you saw it before Weekend at Bernie's and that it may be a remake. Is it possible it was the part 2 of Bernie's ?? I don't know because i never saw part 2 but just thought I would mention it.

Yes there's a part 2. I remember them saying something about this on a Seinfield episode.

yea thanks guys, big up for the efforts involved but its neither of the above mentioned movies , it was a lot newer. still iv been looking everywhere and cant find it, so might just give up. and i thought it would be an easy one! damn!
