Unsolved Can't get this out of my head

I'm pretty sure what I'm looking for is a short film or movie although it's been so long now it's fuzzy and may have actually been a short story I read. But I see it pretty clearly in my head as a movie and I see the husband as someone that looks like William H. Macy, but I don't think it's actually him in it because I've been through everything he has done. It may be part of a bigger movie that has shorts in it like some of the Stephen King ones.

It starts out about a married couple. The brother or friend of the husband thinks that the wife is cheating on him so he hires a guy or a private investigator to follow her and find out for sure. The guy says she is so he gets mad at her and her lover and hires a guy to go beat up the supposed lover. The hired goon follows her to a club where she meets up with her husband but the goon doesn't know he is the husband and beats him up. We then find out that they are role playing or pretending to have an affair because the husband likes that or had a split personality or something.

I know it's kind of vague but that's all I can remember and this memory clip had been nagging at me for months now. Please help if you can. Thanks!
