Unsolved Thinking of a movie

Hi, Iv been thinking of this movie for some time now and just cant put my finger on what it could be. Il describe it the best I can , which there isnt much to it. ITs a sci fi movie I think but I could be mistaken, there is only one scene that I remember and it deals with some type of death game. There is this man in a jumpsuit, he is on some type of time limit climbing up these medal bars in this room that go way up high. He has to make it to the top to get out of the room and not die, if he falls he dies. There were people before him that died when they fell. Thats about the best I can describe of it, if any one knows what movie this is please tell me, It was on cable long ago I think, and no its not the running man.

also there is another movie I scene on cable ages ago, about some type of buisness man that gets trapped in a skyscraper and the skyscraper ends up doings its best to kill him. Once scene I remember is this guy that gets trapped with no one else in the building falls into this air ventilation system? If any one knows either of these two movies please feel free to post, I want to watch them!

De lift. Remake is called Down, aka The Shift. I would avoid the remake, the original is pretty cool and was very popular here in the 80ies.

Thanks for replying, although this isnt the movie I was thinking of. In the movie I was talking about, the second one, the skyscraper actually attempts to kill this buisness man threw out the entire show. The entire movie is set in the night time, and this guy is running around the building all night attempting to escape from it but the building wont have it. Once scene the guy falls threw this large mysterious ducting ventilation system, it was really a cool scene.

The movie "Soldier" with Kurt Russell started with him falling from a rope climb. They think he's dead and dump his body. He ends up saving the day for the locals and fighting against his old unit.

To my eternal shame I have it on DVD.
