Robert 'Robbie' Hart (Adam Sandler) is about to get married, but his girlfriend dumps him at the wedding. Since his job is singing at weddings, het met this girl in one, Julia 'Jules' Sullivan (Drew Barrymore) who is pretty nice, but she already has a boyfriend.
Through most of the film you only see how Robbie and Jules start liking each other everytime more, but at some point Robbie's ex-girlfriend showed up at Robbie's house and Jules saw her, so she got pretty pissed off and went to his boyfriend Glenn (Matthew Glave) and told him she wanted to get married that very same day in Las Vegas.
Robbie kicks his ex-girlfriend out of his house as soon as he wakes up and sees her. Robbie had noticed that Glenn doesn't really love Julia, he even saw him with several other girls a few days ago. So when he finds out Jules is going to marry Glenn, he runs to the airport in order to find Julia and stop her from marrying Glenn.
Adam Sandler gives his best performances when he doesn't look stupid through the whole film (The Waterboy, Little Nicky). The film is located in 1985 so you can see the slight difference in hair styles and other stuff. Drew Barrymore has always annoyed me, specially when she plays a dumb girl, which is in 90% of her movies. In here, she wasn't really a nerd like in "Never Been Kissed", but she looked kinda dumb to me. Besides her, the acting was OK. The story was ok, not boring for a romantic comedy. There is a song in the soundtrack titled "You Spin Me Round" which is pretty good, and there are some cameo appearances by Steve Buscemi and Billy Idol that were pretty cool. If you're in the mood of a romantic comedy, I'd recommend this one, though it isn't really funny, but 'nice' to watch in a rainy day or something.
