John Travolta and Nicolas Cage partner up in this futuristic action packed movie to make it one of the greatest movies of it's genre, and personally my favorite.
Face/Off begins when FBI agent, Sean Archer (Travolta/Cage)loses his eight year old son to an accidental assassination by Caster Troy(Cage/Travolta) who meant to kill Archer. The first action scene is intense when Archer plays cat and mouse with Troy, trying to prevent him from taking off in a private plane. The sparks fly from there that include several explosions and gun shots exchanged between the leading characters. Troy's capture is a result from a life threatening coma he was put in by Archer. However, Troy's sidekick Pollux, has planted a bomb in one of L.A.'s most popular conventional centers, and only Archer can get him to confess the exact location of the bomb, by having the skin of his body switched with Troy's! After the operation, Archer has become Troy and sent to prison to get the information needed, only something terrible has gone wrong. Troy has awaken from his coma and killed off all the people who knew about the operation and used Archer's body to become him! The only problem is, the wrong person is in jail, and the brutal killer plays the role of Archer as an FBI agent, and the father of a child that he killed.
From there, the movie doesn't stop twisting and turning with one suspenseful scene after the next. Woo's brilliant direction and choreography helped the pace of the film, making it move faster than ever. Never is there a dull moment, or slow part. Not only is Face/Off full of action, it has a smart story, something you don't always find in action movies.
If you like action, you MUST see this movie. It's one ride that doesn't slow down until its over. Out of the slew of movies that both Cage and Travolta have been in, Face/Off ranks high amongst them.
