This movie had a lot of potential. Unfortunately it never lived up to it. Richard Lynch (enemy Action, Strike Zone)plays the evil King Cromwell, who enlists the aid of the demon Xusia (Richard Moll, best known for his work as Bull on television’s Night Court) to help him conquer the rich Kingdom of Ehdan, which he does. During the battle, the King of Ehdan is killed and predictably, his son Talon (Lee Horsley; French Silk, Unlawful passing) escapes and hides for several years until he returns as an adult leading a band of mercenaries.
The movie was written well, but the acting was definitely questionable. There were some really bad special effects too…Like the sword that Talon carries. It has three blades, two of which “shoot” from the hilt. Richard Moll did a good job with his role though, making Xusia seem truly evil and intimidating.
Overall, it wasn’t a terrible movie, but it was predictable as I said. The end credits had a note indicating that there would be a sequel, but it must have been shelved since S & S only grossed around 40 million at the box office.
The cinematography was ok, the soundtrack was good, and the plot was alright. See it once if you have nothing better to do.
