What an incredibly boring comedy. I rented this without ever hearing a thing about it, I just saw some of the names on it and thought it couldn't be that bad.. Boy, was I wrong!

Alan Quimp (Douglas McGrath) is a college grammar teacher, his wife is getting tired of not being able to spend some more money on things she wants so she threatens him to tell her father. Alan then comes up with a great solution, he decides to convince everyone that he is a CIA agent. His excuse is that such a dumb loser like him is perfect for the CIA, because nobody would think he is actually a spy.

A series of things happens and he actually ends up working for the CIA; he is sent to Cuba for a mission, where he meets several people (most of them wackos) and he attemps to take Fidel Castro down, who has just aquired the power after getting rid of general Batistia, who will later help Alan do his job. The rest is crap.

I can't believe I sat through this entire movie, it was so not funny. I mean, as every comedy it had it's moments, but they were very rare, and when you spend an hour and a half in front of a television you certainly expect to get a laugh more than once or twice.

A total waste of a good cast, just take a look at this: Sigourney Weaver as Quimp's wife, John Turturro as Johnson, Alan Cumming as Batista, Anthony LaPaglia as Castro, Dennis Leary as officer Fry, Jeffrey Jones as Senator Biggs, Ryan Phillippe as some russian dancer and even Woody Allen had a role in here! I'd totally understand if you wonder how in the world could this movie end up being so crappy? Answer: No idea, I guess the plot and the jokes weren't interesting enough.

The only thing that I liked a bit is the fact that it wasn't a very long film, lucky me coz otherwise I would have gone crazy. Not recommended, avoid.
