Finally there's "Battle for the Planet of The Apes" in which an old orangutang grandpa tells an 'ape fable' which appears in the 'ape bible' in the book of "Grunts" chapter 3. This movie is awful and has nothing at all going for it. Just a bunch of apes and humans setting the stards for 'ape philispohy.' Ridiculously enough, after being freed from slavery by men, a law was made in which no man could say "no" to an ape. Well, that's ridiculous. Unfortunatly, 100s of years after being freed form slavery, "No" is all that is ever said to African Americans.
This movie is not worth your time at all. The only purpose it serves is so you can brag "I have all the planet of the apes movies".
This makes it clear that it IS the final film of the series, and it better be. I'm sure the people who produced the others were getting fed up with this ape crap. The whole concept of this one is that people can change their future. Of course it's no different from the future we saw in the first one. The apes are dressed up in nice 70s clothes while the humans are running around in caveman rags. The only difference is that they get along. A disappointing ending to a painfully dull series.
There's a behind-the-scenes movie called "Behind the Planet of the Apes" available in the DVD collection. I haven't seen it, but I've seen a tralier for it. Pretty much it has interviews with the cast members and talks about how they made these ridiculous wanna be ape costumes. It also talks about the cartoon that spun off of the series and kids toys, Happy Meal specials at McDonalds, collector cups at 7-11, etc. etc.
