The tagline for this movie was "Six students find out there teachers really are from another planet." Same with all the trailers. As if students actually think their teachers are aliens? People aren't that paranoid, and the fact that someone would make a movie playing on this non-existent paranoia is simply appaling.
Robert Rodriquez USED to be a good director. "El Mariachi," "Desperado," and "From Dusk 'Till Dawn," are all decent movies that people have liked, contemporary classics. And the the S.O.B. sold out. He did this piece of garbage movie. Kevin Williamson's script was completly predictable, even more so than "Scream" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer." Sure it has that flamboyant look that is Rodriquez's style, the way everything on the screen is eye-candy. but his ample direction is shot to the ground by Williamson's insipid script! Whoever told Williamson he had talent has a writer should be killed.
Avoid this movie at all costs! I don't know what the hell Rodriquez was thinking, but he still hasn't gone back to his former self and started making good films, seen "Spy Kids?"
