Cameron won the Oscar for playing a homosexual soldier. During his speech he said he wanted to thank someone who helped him a lot during his high school years, Howard Bracket, and he took the opportunity -since he played a gay role- to say Howard is gay.
Everybody in Howard's town was watching this live on TV. His parents go to his house and ask him, but he says he isn't gay. Reporters from all over go to his town and start asking him questions. One of them is Peter Malloy (Tom Seleck), who tries to convince Howard that he's gay and he shouldn't be afraid of admitting it. Cameron Drake finds out about this and goes to the town in order to get Mr. Brackett out of troubles. What will happen with the wedding?
Even though film is a comedy they didn't forget about the script, as sometimes happens. The story is quite nice and funny, and so is the acting. Kline's manners are pretty funny, and Tom Selleck's performance is pretty funny too. Another funny guy was Matt Dillon, who's lines were hilarious. Joan Cusack has proven by now that she can be funny; I wonder if her show is any good. Not only the acting is funny, but the things that happen, the situations, and other small details like the name of the other films nominated in the Academy Awards are funny too. I'd say the film would work for you if you want to have a good time.
