Ever since those "Naked Gun" pictures, Leslie Nielsen hasn't had the best of lucks with his career, his films seem to flop easily and most people don't even know he's still acting. His movies have reached the point where they aren't even promoted enough, and as you can see he is now making TV movies, like "Santa Who?".
The film starts with Peter Albright, a child who lived in an orfanate, writing a letter to Santa Claus, asking for a family who loved him. Peter gets disappointed after that christmas and apparently grows up hating this time of the year. Peter (Steven Eckholdt) now works for TV, as a reporter; he has a relationship with Claire (Robyn Lively), but doesn't get along with her young son Zack (Max Morrow). The problems start when Santa Claus (Leslie Nielsen) falls off the sky and lands on Peter's car; somehow the thousands of feet fall didn't even hurt him, or Peter's car; Peter thinks he hit him while driving, so he takes him home. It turns out Santa now has amnesia, and he doesn't even know who he is; Peter and Claire think he works as one of those Santas who are in toy stores and talk to the kids, but Zack is the only one who suspects he's the real Santa. The elfs also came from North Pole to search for the lost Santa.
That's about it. If this is supossed to be a comedy, then I must say it stinks quite badly. If it's supossed to be a christmas movie for kids, well, it probably stinks too, but maybe not as much; kids might like it. Leslie Neilsen gave a dull performance here, same as everyone else. Through the entire film there wasn't even one single funny moment, that's not good. My recommendation on this one is easy: Watch it if you're eight years old or younger.
